Finally after months of research and waiting I ordered my whipple today. I went with RDP as he spent the most time with me answering all my questions.
What I’m here for now is looking into what I’ll need for the install and getting everything ready. I’ll have a rotofab, borla catback, and the whipple for now. But should I look into different plugs/wires? If so which ones. Should I do the ls3 front crank seal? Anything else really? This will be my first boosted car and want to have everything lined up to go as smooth as possible. Car is a 17 1LE btw. Thank you |

Certainly do the LS3 seal, you are right there and only takes a few mins and a few bucks to do. You will need different plugs because of the forced induction. I would spend the money and don't he LT4 hpfp and injectors since you are right there as well. And if you want more power later your gonna need the hpfp and injectors anyway. While it's apart, get it done. I deleted my cats too, they were getting hot with the Whipple. I used NGK-6509 plugs. I also needed an LT4 map sensor.

Congrats!
You might look into a Metco valve cover breather that has a one way check valve. Since you have a 1LE( which comes with a ZL1 low side pump), A JMS voltage booster would be a good idea from what I hear.

I believe The Whipple kit is suppose to come with a 3 bar LT4 sensor.

Yes I did the install myself. I needed the map sensor because I did the tuner kit with no canned tune from Whipple. Also started with a 3.5" pulley. The standard Whipple kit with tine will have the map sensor.

How was the install? Specifically the balancer. And how long would you say it took?

My friend and I did it. Mind you we did the HPFP, injectors, roto fab and P3 gauge at the same time. We are both mechanically inclined. We tore down 1 weekend about 8 hours. And then installed the following weekend about 14 hrs. The balancer was a pain in the butt, but some heat did the trick.
