Hello! Quick question please

Sooo I just put down payment on 2013 zl1… one owner stock 26k miles.

I have always been a mustang person and was waiting till I saved enough to buy my dream car at 50 yrs old…. I have been looking and could not decide on 2012 Shelby gt500 and a possible Camaro zl1. (Friends convinced me to test drive one)

Friends and family said Camaro was so much easier to upgrade and this eng. and transmission is really solid. (Realize 2013 Shelby gt500 would be better comp. Due to engine enhancement they did vs 2012 engine..but they are very hard to find..)

All that said…wow my friends…the test drive was amazing and I was hooked…amazing and can’t wait to take delivery on 19th..

Will likely upgrade exhaust and headers…. Suggestions?

I feel like a kid at xmas…. Anyway, apologies for the long post and thanks for reading.. honestly was best driving car I have been behind wheel of..

Installing header's will most likely benefit from a tune.
A CAI cold air intake will be a good addition as well and by itself does not require a tune.

Thanks and great advice! Everyone is so fantastic here.
Tune = Dyno run and ECU tweaks by a performance shop correct? (Trying to nail down terminology)

This is the link to the listing…

Been searching on the site to learn more about engine and year Camaro if you have any resources on what are things to be careful of..make sure I do from a maintenance perspective..etc.

Parents passed away recently (mothers funeral is this coming sat) and I realized that if you wait to enjoy the things you dream about..you may not have the opportunity if you wait too long .. (they did not retire till mid 70s….just in time for dementia and heart disease to make their final yrs relatively miserable)

Sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Yes, a tune is needed for heavier mods than a cai as mentioned. Get quality parts and a tune from a reputable, experienced (in LSA's) mechanic. Enjoy it as she sits. It's plenty fast out of the box.

Thank you…yes indeed it is plenty fast! Just a little more exhaust snort I’m thinking….

And they drive / handle supremely…. Clutch was fantastic…. I really had no idea how good…. Reviews of this series are very complimentary by the writers.

Most importantly….wife enjoyed the test ride…green lights all the way..(literally and figuratively speaking)
