So what were the final numbers you were able to tune to on 93.. then on e50/60

The dyno has been very busy have not had a chance to get it back on.

782 RWHP on 93 is the last dyno pull and I know there is more in it, how much is to be determined.

We will not be putting this on E as the Fuel system is too close to max at this boost level and it is not readily available in this area

We will however be putting it on 100 octane Unleaded available locally at the pump.

Ted.

Side note, looks like you can buy an unlocked TCM direct from HP Tuners for $399. Not much more than the cost +shipping to have yours unlocked and no down time.

So moral of the story is the fuel system is limiting the true potential of the 2650 because these numbers have been done several times with the 2300 and 2.9?

That the big debate at the moment right? What's next, upgrading the lowside, high side or leverage port injection.

So when will magnuson update with options for port injection?

@King yes, it seems to be all about fuel. It’d be interesting to see what the +30/40/60 injectors, LPE high pressure pump and additional low side would do with Ted’s setup.

Thanks for posting this. I am looking at getting rid of my GT500 in favor of a ZLE, and I will likely go this route. I will likely go a similar route without the flex fuel stuff. I was thinking more pulley, intake tb and tune for round 1. Then cam and associated parts, and then a blower in round 3. this amount of power on 93 is fine for me in a rwd car.

Ted,

What HP/Torque can the LT1 make with the Maggie?WHipple on the stock fuel system and still be safe? IS there a benefit of the Maggie VS the Whipple, have you done any 19 SS?

MIke.

The LT1 is fuel limited first, then power limited second by the stock pistons. If you are staying stock bottom end, the 2650 isn't going to have advantage over the others because you are not going to be able to spin it hard enough without popping a piston to see the advantages.

The Whipple @ 8-10psi has no heat issues, nor does either Maggie. That is the safe range for a SBE LT1 imo. The 2650 will maintain better IAT temps but that's not going to start to show until you are pushing the 2.9 or 2300 past 12psi or so which is more boost then you should be forcing into a stock bottom end LT1. So it all comes down to goals...Would the 2650 work on a SBE LT1...sure, but its going to be a lot softer on the bottom end to midrange of the power curve at low boost. with the 2300 at 12psi and the 2650 at 15psi, the 2650 didn't make more power until around 4-4500rpm then started to pull away hard. So if you pullied them both up to around 8-10psi, the 2300 is going to be stronger until past peak torque. So imo the 2300 is better for lower boost levels <12psi, the 2650 is better above that.

That being said, imo the 2300 or 2.9 is the sweet spot for 90% of the builds around here. They don't hit as hard as the little 1.74 found on the LT4 but they still maintain good torque and carry power well. The 2650 is for more serious builds or the guys that just want to say they have the latest and greatest. Even then the 2300r has been into the 8's 1/4 mi.
