You can easily snake it in from passenger side of the hood like this:

Hook up under hood. You bypass the RVC system by hooking directly to the battery. The amperage sensor on the battery cable needs to see the load so the vehicle knows the state of charge.

So are you guys who are using it under the hood using the positive (under the red cap) and the negative, or some certain point elsewhere for a ground instead?

That's how I did it, that's how it is listed in the user manual that came with the tender.

Yes Sir... I've got mine connected under the hood. easy to access. I'm using a Battery Butler brand. Works Well. I did order the GM unit with the car but it is much larger unit to have to hide under the cover, the Battery Butler is much smaller and easier to place.

I've been using this on my past cars. The Battery Tender Junior. All the "brains" are on the wall unit, so nothing to have sitting on or near the car.

Nice...

That's how the one from Battery Butler (Lectric Limited Inc.) is built, They list it as a Battery Storage / Maintenance Charger

I've used their product for about 15 years.

Mine is hooked to the terminals under the hood, I didn't completely close the hood, but it is latched and ran the wires down the front and then put the car cover on. There is more than enough slack so that nothing is pulling on them. I am using the LPO battery tender.

yeah, for me the wires go into the trunk but the unit is not in the trunk

Doesn't matter. The Tender will be disconnected when operating the car.

That's the one I use as well. Connected it under the hood, and fished the wires through the hood vent, so I was able to close the hood fully.
