In fact based on you being a blue ZLE, I believe I was behind you pulling in to ACS sunday as well.

I guess the other question is; at a 180 treadware, how do the Cup 2s compared to the base ZL1 tire (Goodyear SC3s)?

I was running the 305 325 stagger. I see some discussion about them measuring small but compared to my GYSC3R and my R888R on my HREs which I brought to the track as well, they seemed about the same.
I was the Hyper Blue ZLE in red, there Sat and Sun.

The 345 PSC2 fits perfectly in the rear, and comparing 315 vs 305 in front Sat/Sun, the 305 looks stretched with noticeably smaller contact patch while the 315 looks right on the wheel--after only 6 laps the new 305s looked more worn than 315s after 3 full session. I was 3 seconds faster Sat on 2 day used 315 front vs. new 305 front Sun. Weird but true, although I wasn't driving as well Sun and spun out 90% through what felt like my only fast lap of the day :-)

I was definitely fighting traction all day. I only ran a 1:53 since it was my first time out on this new setup and I really had to relearn this car with this power level.

I appreciate the input. I dont think I will be trying the PSC2 in any size. As you stated its just not as good at the 3R so no reason to bother with a more expensive less grippy tire. If I had gotten them for 1/2 off like you did then I could justify.

I still think R888R is my Go-To tire. Its just amazing all around especially for a 900bhp car

Are you getting fast lap times at ACS on R888R? I didnt have good luck with these on a road course, although I'm sure they're great for drag racing. And they're not much less expensive than PSC2, and more than GY3R. Tread life is good though.

I havent actually run the R888R at ACS. I didnt put them on sunday because I wanted to burn up the PSC2.

What was your issue with them at ACS? Excessive push/greasing?

I REALLY REALLY lovedd the SC3R when the power levels were stock. My only issue now is putting the power down. The GY just dont seem to be able to do it, even when up at temp. I cant imagine them being any worse than the PSC2 though.

This part of me is regretting my power levels.

On a road course you should be able to modulate the extra power in turns to prevent oversteer, and then use it your advantage on the straights. A stock ZLE on GY3R has plenty of power to do mid 1:40s at ACS with an excellent driver. Stock ZLE has already run 1:49 at BW CW13.

I used to do 1:48 at ACS consistently in my Evo X with similar HP and less TQ. I ran 1:50 at ACS in the ZLE on PSC2, still holding back while I get used to this car after 6 years tracking in the Evo.

My point is, your tires are not what is holding you back from faster laps and extra power is not needed to run very fast laps. Power is not a problem in turns, you should be light on the throttle through turn, letting entry speed and mechanical grip carry you through fast. Roll on the throttle at exit, the E-diff will put it down right.

I was getting a massive amount of turn in oversteer, something I never got with the GY. I’m probably going to go back to the GY

Also for clarification my power mods are not about going faster on track. It’s because I enjoy a fast car that I happen to also track.

Cool, it will help get faster laps at tracks like ACS :-) Lots of straights to use it your advantage. Tempting to modify at some point.

I won’t deny that pulling on pretty much everyone in the straights was a lot of fun.
