We not 100% free here. But, we aren't Yorkitsan slaves.
Welcome to NC, brother. Good to have you. We got beaches, mountains, and a bunch of dope stuff in between. And great BBQ. Enjoy your stay.

If you don't mind indoor try Triangle Shooting Academy. If you don't mind driving there's Drakes Landing in Fuquay and H2O Fowl Farms in Dunn. Both outdoor. I try to get to H2O once a month or so. The RO there is cool.

Thanks guys. Looking forward to getting out and doing some events. Ran across Triangle Shooting Academy on-line but will check out the other two for sure. Molsonbrader, didn't you drive the Glen with us UpstateC5 guys a few years back when you lived in NJ? Pretty sure we met a couple of times.

ok Guys, need a little help...

i stopped into the local gun shop today on my way home from work, you know, just to look around, and they had a few guns that i have been wanting for a while. Problem is, i dont have enough coin to buy them all so i need some help deciding on which to buy.

1. i have been wanting a big bore revolver to replace my Ruger Service Six that i had a few years ago and regret selling. They have a Taurus 607 SS 6.5in in .357. It is a used gun but in very nice condition with a price of $449 ( which im sure i could get down to ~400

2. Ruger Precision chambered in .22. I LOVE .22s especially rifles and have been wanting a Precision since they hit the market. Id really love to have it in 6.5 creedmore, but i have over 10k rounds of .22 in the safe. Price is $399

3 Savage Axis 2 in 6.5 creedmore with a burris 3x9-40 scope. Again, ive been wanting a high power long range forever too..lol Price $479

4. This one is probably not going to beat out the other 3 but its a Mosin Nagant 91/30 in 'interesting' condition. this one had me curious because the stamp on the receiver was 1938. if this is an early rifle id consider this as well.. price was $349 and i can get it for $325

1. Taurus 607

2. Ruger Precision .22

3. Savage Axis 2 6.5 creedmore

4. Possibly early Mosin Nagant.

SO, i need some help deciding on which would be a good buy. And if anyone has/had any of these, please let me know what you thought of it. im going to buy one (mabey 2).

HELP!!

. . . maybe pick the one (or two) that are least like anything that you currently have.

What Norm said... or buy what you'd enjoy shooting.

Hello everyone thought I'd step in and see whats up. My latest purchase was a Ruger Wrangler sa wheel gun that is a blast to shoot. Its funny... I'll have an ar15 a 1911 and that Ruger sitting on the table. I'll go for the Ruger more often than not. The joy of simple and cheap shooting I guess.

so, ended up buying the 607 AND the ruger precision. i traded a Sig mosquito in and got the 607 for $389.. pretty happy

i did a little research lastnight on the 607. turns out they are a somewhat rare gun, only made for 2 years (94-95) and somewhat hard to find in good-excellent condition for sale. i would consider mine to be more towards the excellent side in condition, goog rifiling, no scratches in the stainless, and no buildup of crud due to lake of cleaning. In all honestly, it doesnt look like it has been shot that much at all.

might go back in a couple weeks and see if that mosin is still there.

Sweet

Anyone here ever build a custom action bolt rifle? Getting all the parts together for a Remington 700 clone initially barreled in .308 later in 6 or 6.5mm haven't decided.

Nah that's ok. Everything is already delivered except for geissele trigger that ups lost.

I have questions regarding major and minor thread diameters on barrel/action threads. Was going to try a rem/age nutted barrel but either action or barrel is threaded about 4 or 5 thousandths off
