Stupid recall. I continue to throw the recall reminders in the trash when they show up.

Why was this moved? It is not a thread really about the recall. But rather the stupidity that is going on with GM and just another one of their blunders.....

Agreed, 2 Gen 5's in and no way I would ever give up my switch blade key. I'm short @5.6 and I drive with the seat pretty far back, I couldn't imagine any driving position (or situation) that would put my legs anywhere near hitting that key EVER.

(ok maybe If i was 40 yrs younger and doing a fat chic in the front seat at highway speed, )

Like you I will not relinquish either of my key fobs. I have met the requirements of the recall, gave me two keys, one to be placed beside each fob. Was to use the keys not the switch blades. I removed the keys and placed them on the key rack to collect dust.

I am 6.0' tall and over 200 with my seat down and back somewhat. NEVER has then been an issue. If my knee hits the ignition that means I have just been involved in a bad crash.

I can't begin to tell you how many times I have tested both of my key fobs. Car running I give a gentle tug on the fob trying to release it, never once.

I think this is more f0r the people that have 5 pounds of keys and junk hanging off the fob. I cant believe how much stuff people put on them. Whats next, they hang their phone on the keys?

I think this whole recall was a knee-jerk reaction by Mary Barra after the defective ignition switch debacle on another model. GM can send me as many emails and postcards as they want to, I am not going to participate in this recall.

When I picked up my ride last spring, the first key I was handed was one with the switchblade removed. Great, I thought, lost that feature. The “spare” key was still intact! Guess which one I use?
