Thanks
I used the same pinnacle car wash cleaner that I used on the rest of my car. No special treatment. Xpel has a special cleaner for more stubborn marks like tire marks or tar. That works pretty well, but didn't use very often.

I would highly recommend, at minimum, getting the splitter covered in protective film.
Actually I was being nice. I know I'm in the minority but I really dislike clear bras on any car.

Now I might wrap my hood like that white 1LE I saw last weekend.

Have your cars been traditionally white? This is my first white car. I've had dark colors every time before now. I'm wondering if you're fine without the protection because white hides the chips better? Or have yours just not seen "daily driver" type use and haven't had the chips?

Now that I think of it, I had a silver 350z once. That didn't have visible chips when it was clean. But when washing over the front clip it felt like sand paper.

Yeah now they said it's $750. I'm getting it done. Suppose to cover the whole front end including side view mirrors.

I didn't get mine done. Honestly didn't know anything about ppf when I bought it. Wish i had. Now I have 6000 miles on it and have a few good chips. It's not a daily driver, but it gets driven to the track and has picked up some issues. Now I am looking at significant paint correction before the film is applied. Not sure what I am going to do. Really want something on it before i head to fest this summer.

I have a white SS with 21k miles. The nose had held up pretty well. However the headlights (when they are on) looks like they've been sandblasted. Really the biggest problem area is in front of the rear tires
. It has coverage from the factory but it's all beat up and chips are least double the height of the protection. Maybe that won't be the case with wider zl1 fenders. On my next camaro (if I end up in 1le) protection on headlights and front of the rear wheels will defiantly be priority.

I knew that would be a problem area, so made sure I got full coverage on the rear quarter panels. My 911 came with a little panel of film there, but that area is quickly peppered with the wide body fenders on the C4S, They really stick out, can kind of tell in this picture, and I could see the ZL1 fenders would be easily chipped too. Oh, and that's my radar detector in the passenger seat, going 3/4 mile on 25 MPH roads to Grandma's, otherwise his seat would be in back, not in front.

Just dropped mine off for Xpel this AM. It's been sitting in my garage for about 3 weeks waiting for this appointment...

Avoid

Avoid Speed Specialists in Addison. They do not have a clean room and two times dirt under the film. Still fighting it out with the Credit Card company about refund for inferior workmanship.

My car us going on week 2 of install. I'm going nuts. I need to start the break in process. I only have like 42 miles on her. 35 miles of it was driving to get xpel done.

Haha I know the feeling. It was TORTURE just sitting in my garage for 3-weeks. After seeing the post about the "first rock chip" I wasn't going to risk a single thing.

They have been working on the install for two weeks?

That's what I was thinking, are they manufacturing the Xpel before installing it? Many cars fully wrapped, longest one I think was 5 days, one of which was paint correction, 3 days of install, one day sitting in the heated bay to let it "cure".
