I am having the lower bumper and upper, partial hood, front fenders, & mirrors
done for $775, that includes taxes. I may add on rockers and rest of hood, depends on cost.

Touch up paint will never come out perfect like it it was never there. I had a professional touch up my small rock chip and you can still see the touch up area if you look close enough.

Painting a new bumper is an alternative but more than likely they will have a hard time matching the clear/orange peel from factory. Plus the hassle of taking off the bumper, leaving it at the shop, etc.

Xpel is the perfect solutions to avoid rock chips IMO.

Since when? I thought the Cadillac V series and the Camaro ZL-1 had carbon fiber hoods, not the SS.

I had mine done at Ziebart about a month ago. I first started with the Rockers. (well worth it as it was showing rock chips along where the fenders widen) they did such a good job, I had my front bumper and mirrors done. all in all about 900 bucks. they say, that the Camaro front bumper is one of the harder bumpers to install. Granted mine is not xpel, but is there "Z shield" which is backed by a lifetime warranty.

I had XPel put on the entire front clip, lights, fenders, hood and mirrors of the Z06. I love it. I was told that they sell a spray to use to clean it, but so far (last 2 years) I simply have used a wet cloth and then dried it and it looks perfect. I see no reason to wax a plastic film.

That was the first car I did and I will do it on every important car I buy in the future.

Best investment thus far, especially if you're anal about your paint.
I love to keep a real good shine on my cars (as I'm sure most of us do) so I've always been a little afraid that xpel or something similar would take a little away from the shine. But hot damn is that red shining! Looks great. Guess there isn't too much to worry about.

Perhaps we need to look at it from this perspective. What exactly is shine? It is a materials ability to reflect light. The clear coat on your paint reflects light. In fact most paint jobs are flat. It's the clear that reflects the light so in theory the Xpel is another layer of clear coat which helps reflect that light. I imagine the only thing that xpel could do is detract from that reflective power if it were damaged. Place a piece of clear plastic sandwich wrap on your car. I bet the only way you would see it is if you were to look at the edges or air bubbles. I'm not a scientist. Just a PITA.

This is the first time Ive heard about this solution. Im definitely gonna get this for my car.

Do prices vary from installer to installer or is it usually the same? Some people are doing the entire front end for less than $1000, while the website shows that is easily $1500+. Is that because the website shows MSRP not real market prices?

You will find an installer who is (or claims to be) more "experienced." They are going to charge more. I think I am overpaying for my installation, but the shop doing it seems to take great care in their workmanship so I am willing to pay a bit more for them to handle it. I am also doing a custom install where they are cutting the pieces to fit directly and wrapping them around the edges of each panel. You won't necessarily see this with an installer who simply uses the cutout plots that you find on Xpel's website. I recently saw a Ferrari 458 Italia which had a terrible paint protection film install. The film had 1/8 to 1/2" gaps between its edges and the edge of the body panels. Most of the PPF pieces were crooked as well. This would drive me insane on my $45K Chevy let alone my $300K+ Ferrari.

Got my first estimate from certified installer that is listed on the XPEL website. $1650 for the entire front end.

The 16 camaro is a very hard car to apply film on. Make sure you are using a film mfr that is using a PATTERN for the car. It is a much better job than a installer that is using film rolls and a razor knife.

That was the very first thing I asked. Where I went, they refused to use a knife on any car. which was a plus in my book. after they applied it there was some bubbles, but took it back and they got it out. You will always see some small bubbling (similar to that of putting a protector on your phone) but it usually works its way out. I am very happy with mine. Peace of mind and lifetime warranty..
