Supercharger issue

Ok here is my problem. I have an SVE supercharger. Began whining louder than normal a few weeks ago. It was SVEs pilot car. Took to dealer and they said the bearings were shot and supercharger needs replaced. SVE says there is no warranty due to it being a test car as they only warranty cars with the full kit. Mine is just the supercharger.

Can’t the bearing be replaced? Is the supercharger completely shot as the dealer told me. The whole situation sucks and I refuse to put another supercharger on it. Thoughts?

I can't believe that a company like SLP ahem SVE offers something for $8000 or so with no warranty. I don't know what you mean "pilot car" I assume you purchased this car second hand with no warranty given or implied? Even then the OEM of the blower should have a warranty. I think my Procharger is 1 year on head unit, and since my credit card doubles anything I buy warranty it would be two years. I have a few times used the "double your warranty" with no issues from Citi Bank. I did buy Procharger second hand and if I remember right, there was a note the install manual that I could send some nominal amount of money in and register the head unit under my name to keep the warranty intact. I did not do so as I purchased an upgraded head unit for pennies on the dollar. The trade in for a perfect head unit was $500 so I gave it to my son instead.

In all the installs and buds etc, I have heard of bearings wearing out at 50,000 for Powerdyne, internal belts breaking (cheap to fix), but I have never heard of a low miles Procharger or PD going out ever, they are rock solid dependable.

Sucks, because the PD are OEM meaning they can last a LONG time.

How much did you pay for the supercharger, or was it given to you as a Pilot program?

Ted.
