Suspension - GEN 5 1LE vs GEN 6

Has there been any comparisons between these two yet? I am curious if the GEN 6 standard suspension setup is as tight a setup as the current 1LE. I know about the MRC option and it would be nice to compare the Sport and Track MRC settings to a 1LE setup as well.

6th gen standard SS suspension should be softer. One of the engineers described it as between tour and sport modes for MRC.

Thumbs up

For sure something similar to the actual 1LE's squared 285's tires/wheels setup could make a great difference on the new 6th. gen SS= less understeer.

Thanks. I also love the look of the wheel/tire combo of the 1LE. It creates a much more aggressive stance. I had a 2002 Corvette Z06 and I think my 1LE even with all the extra weight handles better. Truly an amazing car for the money. I am looking forward to the GEN 6 SS but I hope it will still handle like the current 1LE does.

It might not be as 'stiff or tight' as the outgoing 1LE but GM themselves have said that the new Camaro out handles the old 1LE.

The is a lowering kit that tightens things up....who knows what the car can do after that is installed?

Your comment is misleading... GM said it got around a track faster than a 5th Gen 1LE.... WHICH IS 225 pound heavier with a much less potent power plant....

The during lightning lap, the 1LE beat a stock SS by 7 SECONDS on their track with identical power/ weight ratios...

The next 1 LE will remove the understeer bias GM defers to for normal models ( safety)

Doubt that the spring kit improves anything.

A lowering kit would help drop the center of gravity and indeed help any car handle better around corners or on a track.
