What do you guys think?

Bought a 2016 convertible v6 2lt over the weekend that was a left over 16 on the showroom floor. Got it for 39k after tax and title with 0 interest through the life of the loan. Now after driving it for 200 miles it had a battery issue with the alternator overcharging it and cause a horrible smell as well as causing the battery to smoke. Called the dealer and they picked it up and brought it back it back to NY (I live on NJ) the car is for my wife and she wants to return it because of the immediate issues it had after basically 50 miles when I bought it. What do you guys think and has anyone had similar issue and how did you resolve it? Thanks for the input guys.

Sorry to get a little off topic here, but 39K for a 2LT V6??? I paid 24 for a 1LT, and I have an auto with NPP exhaust. If I were you, I'd try to return it and search for a better price somewhere else. But that's my .02

Convertible.

They won't take it back, that's what a warranty is for. Let them take a look at it and fix it. Enjoy it!! It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

I was thinking that was high also, my 17 1le was not a whole lot more than that. It is a vert he got they are way overpriced.

Edit: I checked a 17 vert 2lt on Chevrolet.com 39k out the door is very high for a 2016 model actually damn.

It is a convertible and also has the lighting and convenience package that was a must for my wife. We shopped around and this was the best deal by far especially with the zero percent interest loan.

That's still high, msrp on a 2017 with light and conv is 40k. You bought an almost 2 year old car, I'd give it back if they took it back.

This is a 2017 for 38k with almost the same package BEFORE taxes and no interest incentive which could amount to a couple thousand more over the life of the loan. Taxes where I live would come out to be 3-4k as well.

I believe he's saying he paid $39k including taxes. Which means he might have paid around $35k or so?

Yes I guess I should have just said that. I paid 35k with zero interest for 6 years and also got the extended warranty with tire and wheel protection

I think you did pretty good. Enjoy it, there is always someone out there who got a better deal.

I know what out the door means lol. He said taxes and title. Like I said it's a 2 year old car he's doing them a favor by buying it, just seems high to me.

Ahhh extended warranty and wheel protection, the ultimate waste of money but to each his own, and you didn't mention those two in original price paid.

You really think so guy said we could cancel and refund at anytime. What is your reasoning behind it being a waste? I didn't have it on my 2011 but also didn't have the money at the time?

The warranty is debatable but the wheel protection is NOT a waste of money. It pays for itself after one use generally if you need a tire or wheel. Just make sure you get coverage that covers cosmetic damage and not just road hazard damage.
