Dash Cams

Does anyone have recommendations for a GOOD, Reasonably Priced Dash Cam?? Too many crazy drivers here NOT to have one. Every time I go out (I only have 2,700 miles on my baby in 10 months) I feel like I have a bullseye on my car !!
Thanks in advance....Dave

I run a Vantrue N2 PRO dual dash cam for my car. Cost me $160 when it was on sale. Regular price is $200 but HIGHLY recommend!

I have a Rexing V1P which I recommend. It comes with two cameras. One for the front, and the other for the rear. Great quality and I know it will last a long time. It's $200 which is kinda pricey I admit.. But it's totally worth it imo. It's got a design which doesn't 'pop out' of the window, unlike other cameras which ruin the whole look of the interior. 10/10 for me. They also have a regular V1 which doesn't have the rear camera on Amazon which retails for $100.

Another vote for the rexing v1 , for just the front facing one for the wife’s car and for the $100 it’s hard to beat

you're gonna have to narrow down what you want more than "good" and "decently priced". Depending on your needs, that doesn't narrow things down very much at all.

Do you want a rear camera and front facing?
Do you want front and rear internal facing?
Do you want gps?
Do you want wireless transfer to phone?
Do you want cloud upload support?
Do you want driving/parking assist?
Do you want 4k video?
Do you want high framerate?
Do you want night vision?
Do you want one that supports operating in high heat?
Do you want constant surveillance even when parked?
Do you want remote notification of when triggered when parked?
Do you want 360 degree view?

etc. ...there's lots of options and lots that fall within good and decent priced given whatever someone decides they want/need feature-wise.

whatever you get, always review video stills of the actual captures during real world use and see if you can read the license plates of vehicles in the video. If you can't make out the license plates in videos then I would pass on getting them. You'd be surprised at how poorly most are at capturing those details on anything but stationary video.

I've had this one for almost a year

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

no issues at all.

here's a video of a capture I recorded with it.

https://youtu.be/nQTyezpsJMY

I've played around with a few of the pruveos, including a 720p model and a different 1080 model that mounts a little differently.

sure they aren't anything compared to pretty much anything a little more expensive, but for 50 bucks, this one suits me, at least for now.

Viofo a129 duo front and rear camera.

I have dash cams in all cars and even on my bikes.

I have had these since Summer of 2017
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

No Issues with either camera. One is on my car, the other on the wife's.
Sample of the camera footage from last year.

Idiot almost got me...

I have Vantrue N2 PRO and recommend it. The video is great and it has dual camera mode to record the cabin, which could be useful when dealing with an insurance company.

My last one was a Thinkware f770, it was nice as well, but a bit pricey.

Those of you with the Vantrue N2 Pro. Did you hardwire it to constant power to use the motion/impact sensors in parking mode?

I purchased the Vantrue Dash Cam Hardwire Kit, but it seems to only have one wire for constant power. I thought that we needed to have both swtiched power and constant power connected to this so it would know when to switch into parking mode. ??

BUMP! , just bought this cam and definitely need to hard wire it. Anyone have any insight on the best way to accomplish this?

I just bought a Best Buy battery pack and just plugged the power to the pack. Never bothered to hardwire it since I knew I was gonna upgrade dash cams soon.
