Thanks Taco. I think I will go with the yellow. I've found some red with black background "SS" decals to use on them that I think will really make them look good.

Thanks for the compliments guys! It's really appreciated.

More additions this afternoon. Added the ZL-1 fender extensions/air deflectors. Had to do some serious surgery to get these to fit with no gaps. Nothing like taking a dremel to $120 worth of parts.

On another note I just finished paying for my carbon fiber door inserts and dash pieces from a group buy. So in a few weeks I'm going to be taking a break from the exterior and move inside the car. In addition to the carbon fiber I'm going to swap out the leather dash inserts for the Alcantara ones and change the factory shift knob for a satin finish M1 Abrams shift knob from TWM Performance. I'll be replacing the leather shift boot for the Alcantara one too. Wish me luck.

Just installed the following parts...
  • GM Alcantara Z/28 F-Pads (dash pads) left and right.
  • GM Alcantara Z/28 shift boot.
  • GM Alcantara Z/28 steering wheel.
  • TWM Performance Satin M1 Abrams weighted shift ball.
Still waiting on carbon fiber dash strips to finish out the dash. Door panels need some additional polishing to remove a couple of blemishes. Hopefully I'll get that handled this week.

Looks good man!! I suggest some headlight armor 'blackout' shade strips for your sidemarkers. Will eliminate those ugly yellow markers.

Thanks BooSSted! I'll have to look into that.

I installed the new carbon fiber dash appliques last night. The dash is close to where I want it now and definitely a step up from what I had.

Looks awesome! Seeing your interior reminds me that I should start working on mine.

Thanks Burt. I try! On that same note I finished off the new steering wheel with a custom "SS" emblem to replace the factory Z/28 part and a custom bowtie for the horn pad. Both are from EmblemPros. Next up is to install the carbon fiber door panels.

So I damaged one of my interior door panels while trying to install my new carbon fiber inserts. After doing some serious research I think that the problem was that the inserts I bought are designed to specifically fit the 2SS door panels with the factory hard plastic inserts and not the cloth panels that come in the 1SS. Anyway I went ahead and bought the Z/28 ones so that the stitching will match the new dash insert, shift boot and steering wheel. Bonus I guess is that the armrests are leather on the new panels where the 1SS ones were vinyl. This was my first screw up while modding my car. Not bad for three years I guess.

The retro Camaro crest in yellow and black is a nod to the Ferrari look that I am going for with this car.
Where did you get those custom designed domed center caps from? I wanting to do something else than the LG logo center caps on the ZR28 wheels.

Thanks.

Hey JROD. I got them from eBay believe it or not. Unfortunately the guy is out of business. I have seen several other folks on there that do domed acrylic center caps. One of them may do customs but I haven't approached anyone yet. If you find someone let me know. I have some other work I've been thinking about getting done.

The car looks very nice. I hope to have mine back soon and get her out this year. Last year it was in shop on a major heart transplant. Very fun to drive and gets a lot of looks when it is out.
