Yes. But it falls within factory tune specs, and after many, many logs, I've no concern. I believe its mostly TM and trans characteristics. My TCM is in the mail too HPT as I type. But, this is a lengthy conv. that should take place in another thread. As are many of the topics coming up here. Like I said before... Nice thread!!

Here are my numbers from HP tuners. In reality, on the dyno I saw like 775whp and 735wtq.
I am not exactly sure why, but on HP tuner, my torque maxes out at 640 and doesn't move. . .but the HP numbers have been pretty darn close to whp numbers on the dyno. In fact, on the street I see a little higher HP number because when the car is moving I get a little additional timing.

Honestly Evil, if V8 guys that have Dyno numbers along with data from HP tuners to compare with it will help get the ball rolling initially. I mean we don't need flooded with there stuff, they can create their own thread for that lol.
Its pretty promising that his HP tuners is within 4 % of the dyno numbers though !! DRS |

My bad. I saw the subject scanning through the forum on my phone and didnt realize it was in a different subsection. I did have a similar thread in a different t tuning section.

ok.. so I guess I am coming to the party late you guys.
couple of questions. Would anyone volunteer to make a tutorial on what product and process is used to collect the data, and a rough order of suitability for example I have a ELM ODBLink MX+ and an android app either Torque or Car Scan - useful to check and clear codes but has a logging function - dubious accuracy in their respective forums. .... in between other free / demo ware used. .... HP Tuners is probably the defacto standard. If its too steep of an uplift I understand. All we need is a torque number and the parts bolted on and which gear is in the record/ image snip? FWIW - my dyno guy suggested 18-19 percent loss on M6 based on his experience. I was also looking for an oppty to discuss dyno aka the vendor stock chart in my dyno chart post. I have reason to think the vendor chart is accurate. 272 tq at the wheel factory. 295 engine factory. that's an 8 percent drop in tq 219 hp at the wheel factory. 275 engine factory. that a 19.4 percent drop hp. But torque is the practical result - hp is derived. Does anyone agree HP is really "just" a relative variable that shows how much Work is being lost at a particular rate of wheel rpm? And more importantly why does it take increasingly more Work as rpm increases, at the same time torque is seen decreasing.. Esp when a car is strapped to the floor lol.. If I shorted out, sorry about that the bruins are up 3-0... 4-0. .... |

Torque is measurable and HP is calculated via the formula on the first page of this forum
So basically if your device has the ability to read and display the vehicles torque PID, you can calculate the hp and post up your numbers. |
