2020 LT1 at the track tonight

Took my 2020 LT1 to the track tonight - bone stock A10, with AWE axel back.

Only got two runs in best being a 12.202 @118. with a crappy 1.95 60 Foot.

Was pretty chilly tonight, around 45 degrees so I'm sure that was an issue. Was running a rear drag pack and she definitely had a high 11 in her if I was better at launching and such.

Good pass. I consider 1.95 good for a 60’!

I don't see a 1.95 as a good 60' with a drag pack on the rear. Most stock Camaro's with street tires on the right track can cut 1.70s and 80s. Maybe just not launching correctly but the MPH was really good. Were you trying to launch brake torqueing it or were you leaving right off idle. I think most have found that right off idle works best with stock converter and basically no mods.

I would consider 1.9 on a stock m6 car good.

OP clearly identified his car as an A10 in the original post. He also said it had an AWE axleback and a rear drag pack.

I do agree with the OP and laynlo15 that 1.95 is not the kind of short time that I would have expected for that package either. My own experience was that on my first run with drag radials on the back of my A8 SS, I got a 1.76 short time.

It was my first time at the track ever in this car and I was messing around with launching from different RPMs. the 12.2 was from 1100 RPM - I never got around to trying off idle - only got two runs in as the track was packed. The temp for both passes was around 44 degrees. Also, the tires on the rear were Nitto 555Rs so maybe not pure drag pack per say.

I run the 555r2s on my C7 and they hook great. Just try the right off idle, no launch control. Right off idle lets the converter flash and should see quicker 60ft times. I've tried 1000, 1200 to 1500 and all have proven to be slower then flat footing if right from idle. Do your burn out past the water a foot or two. If you do the burnout in the water then when you roll to the line the water drips down on top of the tires. So roll thru, take all the nannies off and do your burnout, these R2s don't need to be smoked to death, just get them smoking and keep your foot in it and let off the throttle some as you take your foot off the brake. Roll right to the line and get ready for launch. If no ones there to help you stage just put your drivers mirror all the way down so you can tell when you have rolled thru the water and on dry pavement. In 52 years of drag racing I've been down the track a couple thousand times or more and I've done it all and sometimes not right so just trying to help you out.

Just takes some experimenting is all. Try launching from an idle next time and see what it does.

As far as your 555R tires, they should be fine for an auto car. Have seen someone post running in the 10s using those tires on the back of an auto car with over 600whp, so I don't expect them to be an issue for your auto car with ~400.

That was meant in reply to vtirocz's comment, who considers a 1.9 60' good as he's an m6 guy as well. Hope this helps.

depending on tire size the drag radials may be hurting more than helping
