At that price range I would go for either the C8, a used C7 Z06 3LZ, or a used ZL1. No disrespect but if I'm spending somewhere in the $60K price range (which a Base 1LT C8 is) then I wouldn't even be considering a SS.

If you are patient (willing to wait a very long time), have a lot of extra cash (or like big loans and car payments), and/or willing to pay way above sticker, get the C8. C8's are in big demand, you cannot get a 2020, have to get a 2021 now if you order one. C8 will hold it's value really well and you will have a car everyone will turn their head at. I did see an ad on CL though a private guy seeking to make a buck selling a new C8 for 105K. So, money talks as always the case.
If you prefer to be practical, want it right now, spend less money, get the Camaro 2SS.

C8. I love my 2SS (options same as you want) but if I were able to, I would have definitely went with the C8. But I really love the Corvettes just as much as I do Camaros. My biggest factor would be going to something that is designed as a 2 seater rather than owning a 4 seater that is really not a 4 seater. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice though.

I would not be happy with a low option C8.
But, cost aside, I still prefer the Camaro for my needs and my taste. |

If it were me i would get a base C8 But i'm the kind of person that doesnt get hung up on vehicle options. I wanted the basest base model Camaro 2.0 that the Chevy dealer had in the basement. I told them i didnt care about options and the less it had the better. My only requirements for the car was that it was RBM, a 6speed and a 2.0 turbo. They tried to sell me an SS i told them no they even tried to get me to look at a Mustang GT but i was like ehh i dont like the body style. The kind of stuff that i would want in an options package like bigger brakes, better seats i will just end up installing on my own anyways.

If you’re going to mod, you might want to hold off on the C8. Cracking that ECU likely cannot be done yet without factory assistance...

This exact reason is why I bought my ZL1 instead of a c8

I recommend finding out what it's actually going to cost you to get into a C8, then see how much Camaro that will buy. I predict you can get into a ZL1/ZLE with every available option for less that a base C8

Also take into consideration... GM is looking to shut down 2020 c8 production due to the current state of things, and go right to the 2021 c8 once its back up and running. So, no new C8's for a while.

If you can get away with a Corvette, then I say go for the Corvette.
