Satin or gloss black RS wheels
Looking to do this with my stock 20" RS wheels, which are a bright silver. It's a 2018 Garnet Red V6 RS. The front grill and rear lower valance are stock, which is basically a flat black plastic color. On one hand the satin seems more befitting because of the flat black on the front and back of the car. But then again, maybe gloss would be better since it would stand out a bit more. Just curious on peoples opinions on this

I personally got the 20" Satin Black. The Gloss Black is too much for me. Theres plenty of shine to Satin with a good cleaning. I'll try to get pics in a few. At work atm.

So no opinions I guess. Well let me ask this then...anyone know what percent gloss the factory black wheels have? I'm looking at doing satin with 40% gloss, and am wondering if it's really close to the factory low gloss wheels

Sorry man, I have the same paint color but not much experience with black wheels beyond a brief look here and there. If your grille and valance are both satin, I wouldn't go with gloss black, the mismatch will look unintended.

Thanks for the response! Yes my grill and rear valance are both the stock flat black plastic. I agree from that standpoint alone a satin black wheel would be more suitable. The stock low gloss black wheels are about perfect for me. I'm just hoping a black satin with 40% gloss is basically identical

Pics
Here are pics of the wheels right after I bought them. Sorry for the delay. Been hectic around here lol! Anyhow, after a quick double-check, these wheels aren’t Satin. They are Low Gloss. For some odd reason I thought I purchased the Satin. But I figured I’d post them to give you some ideas if you were interested.

They are factory. I purchased them from ShopChevyParts.com. For the price of powder-coating, I opted to buy new and sell off the old wheels. But I keep forgetting to post them on Ebay lol.

They look good. I like that slight gloss look, but not over the top glossy. Know what I mean? I'm wondering if the 40% gloss on the satin combined with a good wax/sealant might be very comparable to this factory low gloss. Only want to do this once and not have any regrets. I hate decisions like this lol

I hear ya. Yeah, the full gloss was way too much. I'd think 40% would be enough, but I'd be too chicken to roll the dice if I didn't have the product in front of me. So I know exactly how you feel. I ended up visiting the local Chevy Dealer and inspecting all their ZL1s and Corvettes before I finally making my decision.

If I had some gloss black accents on the car I'd do the high gloss wheels in a heartbeat, but all my stuff is more flat black plastic and rubber from the factory. What I need to find out is if the satin finish is more porous than the gloss. If it is it might really trap more crap and not take well to waxing and/or sealing
