Not really any drone just the exhaust tone is different when afm kicks in. It's not terrible like some of the imports you see with the big exhaust it just doesn't sound as good as regular v8 mode. I've got a copy of hp tuners though so I will probably just tune out afm after I put my headers on.

Raising an older thread to ask if those of you who switched to the 60606 + npp are still happy?
Looking at options, I feel this is the route I want to go. I want to keep the npp functionality but would love a little more noise when out of the neighborhood and out of tour mode.
Looks like I'll need to move quickly if going this route as Borla have stopped making them??

Your input welcome

I'm still very happy and have not had any CEL's, bells, or even had a bolt work loose!

Stealth mode for the 5am cold start, then straight to Track mode once I'm a half mile from the house. Ya gotta remember the valves still close (and it gets quieter) when you're cruising with small throttle openings in Track, then when you open it up it suddenly comes to life like an angry bear!

I've also heard Borla is pulling this part off market- check with DynoSteve at RDP- I'll bet he can still find a set.

This is exactly what I want to do (just the 60606 to the NPP exhaust). Does anyone have any soundclips or videos?

Still happy with the 60606 to stock npp, no issues, and love the sound.

When I measured I found I'd left right at 8" of pipe from the body of the muffler on both sides (Borla instructs suggests cutting just 7" out from the muffler body for their axle-back installs). Hoping to avoid further work, I made sure every connection was as deeply connected as possible and when it came time to add the final length of the Borla X pipe I actually had a 1" gap from the end of 60606 and the stock NPP!

The sleeve clamps mentioned by the OP are 3.5" wide, so I marked off a 1.25"of pipe for each side and tightened it down. It's working like a charm, but I was glad I didn't have to make due with a 1/2" less pipe on either side.

Just a FYI for those looking forward to this DIY mod.

So should I measure 8" from the muffler and cut or 7" as the borla axle back instructions indicate?
Did you measure 8" on top of the pipe or on the bottom? It's longer on the bottom because of the bend in the pipe.

Did 60606 into suitcase first. 7" cut back from suitcase. Sleeve clamps to connect 60606 to suitcase. Still with !F51.

Now, suitcase is gone and 11925 installed. Wanted to do it a step at a time.

How does 60606+NPP compare to 60606+11925?

Night and day. But I'm pleased with it. Valves aren't working. See summary in my other thread this section.
