You’re not wrong. Although gas seems plentiful here in Orange Park.

There are a couple stations in Columbia suburbs that were out yesterday. Most still have 93.

Since they have a port Charleston should not see the problems the rest of the state will get.

Here is some interesting information behind the shortage. Looks like a Russian hacker group took down a pipeline on the east coast:

I live in Charleston and i dont believe we get any fuel tankers that come through the port. We'll be impacted just like the rest of the southeast. People are idiots

Noticed going home today after work all the gas stations I passed were packed with cars and trucks. My truck has about a 1/4 tank left so I guess I will be out soon. I need to fill up the 5 gallon container for yard work but doubt I can get some now.

the pipeline spans houston to nj. per usual, there is no shortage of anything, simply a breakdown in getting it from one place to another.

it's ok, dot has waived the hours of service for fuel distributors since its safe for them to drive as much as they want now.

I'm supposed to go to VIR this weekend with NASA and anyone on here knows who's been there how sparse southwest Virginia is for everything.

Any body else having problems where they are at already?

So, what does declaring or being in a state of emergency accomplish? Emergency, and do what?

A toilet paper shortage sounds more like a real emergency....lol

I just read an article about this. It said the national average for gas could hit above $3/gallon. I can't remember the last time I paid less than $3/gallon for gas (probably at the start of the pandemic last year). In any case, I'll probably have to fill up with gas during the early afternoon on a weekday (my local Costco gas station is like a parking lot on the weekends and just before a long holiday).

No problems here in Southwest FL but ours doesn't come from that pipeline.

Anyone remember hurricane Irma? That was a cluster **** 5 days before the storm and a couple days after. The media hyped it so much before Irma.

I'm more concerned about the massive price increases for our 93 octane!!!

It is the Governments way (NO POLITICS ADMINS!!!! - FACTS) to "protect the consumer, individual, way of life...

So it is supposed to...

Stop Stations from charging unreasonable prices
Stop Consumers from rolling up with tanker trucks
Stop - well stupid shenanigan

That is mostly the gist...just gives the local government more authority during the "crisis" to keep the "peace"
