Sound tube delete on a V6

Fairly new to the forum and first time posting here. I'm not sure if this really is the right forum to ask this in but it is related to V6's.

I have a 1LT RS and am looking to delete the sound tube. I have seen many forum threads and some videos on this but all of them have been about the V8 LT1. I know it is a fairly easy mod but want to do it right.

I have seen people suggest plugging the hole in the intake tube with a rubber tap or other material but don't feel comfortable with the possibility of something plugged in getting sucked through (or blown out? If that's even possible).

I already have an "I4 firewall plug" from Gen5DIY for the hole in the firewall but I was wondering if any V6 owners on the forum have deleted their sound tubes and how they went about covering the hole in the intake tube. The hole is located on the bottom of the intake tube and I tried measuring its diameter to find something to surround and cover the hole from a Home Depot or the like but couldn't measure it because of its location.

I would appreciate a part number or image of the packaging for something that might helped someone with this mod.

Thanks in advance!

a simple silicone/rubber pvc cap does the trick. Or any stretch of silicone clamped with a hose clamp will do.

Even duct tape with a nice little clamp or wire tie banding it around the opening will be fine. Nobody is going to see it and it isn't going to see any significant pressure unless you totally clogged your intake opening. You're safe.

Just curious but why do you want to delete it? I got an aftermarket CAI for mine and it had the sound tube as optional so I hooked it back up and I have the plug for it if I ever decide to change my mind. I got the AFE Momentum GT by the way.
