3m vhb is really tough stuff, however I would still put at least two screws on a spoiler...Mostly because if it comes off, it’s a possible safety issue. 3M vhb is great for a couple years, but then it starts to degrade. Mostly because of the dirt that is forced up into the surface where it meets, also heat will dry it out.
Just check it often if you plan to use just tape....

A full year now since I installed a RS spoiler I bought from Ikon Motorsports on my LT. I used 3M VHB tape, but not what Ikon sent with the spoiler. I bought some that was a little wider. I also used the 3M adhesion promoter wipes on the bottom of the spoiler. The trunk lid area where the spoiler sits I thoroughly cleaned and carefully wiped gently with some diluted isopropyl alcohol. After a year the spoiler is still on rock solid. No evidence of loosening at all. I’m sure it helps that this spoiler is so low profile. The car spends quite a bit of time outside unfortunately. It has been through Polar Vortex cold along with summer heat and humidity. So far I’m glad I didn’t drill and have to worry about my technique leading to trunk leaks. If anything changes I’ll report back.

They have some seriously super strong 3M tape that holds like 30 lb..if you set it up right and use 3M adhesive promoter guarantee that spoiler will not go anywhere.

Would the 3M VHB be ok to use on some side skirts?
Want something that's going to hold, but also be able to get it off if needed. If they ever got a crack or anything.

This is what I used when I did my side skirts ..it amazing .. like I said before use the 3M adhesive promoter first makes the tape super strong and if you ever do have to take it off for some reason you're going to have to use a heat gun.
