Mostly when driving, especially at lower/less throttle, but just after start-up a few times as well.

Do you still have the stock TB to swap back to and see if the issue goes away?

I do, and I will when I have time. Putting the stock intake back on as well.

Code is back with Soler TB now and stock intake/Green Filter. Lol I don't think I'm going to figure this one out. Luckily it clears easily and seems to have zero impact on the car otherwise.

Well I finally may have some insight thanks to a special friend at a dealership that pulled some info for me.

I won't directly post what was sent out of courtesy but if you need to see it if you're having a similar problem PM me.

Basically either the wiring/circuit or the relay that control ECM startup is bad/flaky. The car runs and starts fine so I think mine is just borderline.

The relay in question is K7 in the underhood block, part # 13455283 and it's about $30 so I ordered one to replace.

I don't have the GM service tool so I can't do the full diagnostic but I did check the relay itself with a multimeter and the coil resistance is right at the top of the specified range, which is 70-110 Ohms, it read 109.6. Suspect with heat it may occasionally drift high and trigger the DTC if it's also checking that resistance somehow.

Anyway, I will replace the relay and see if it fixes the intermittent issue, otherwise I think I'm finally going to have to break down and take it to the dealer as they can diagnose the circuit/wiring on the car itself using the service tool.

Good find man, when the relay gets warm or hot the resistance will climb up and read as an open.
I had a fuel pump relay in my GTO do that same thing, causing it to go lean and I found it by accident one day, it was discolored from getting hot.

Actually switched from Weapon-X PTB to Soler. So far so good. I feel like the Soler is smoother in the bottom 30% which is as advertised.

More interesting data. Went for a track day on Friday (mid-high 80's temps) and ran the car hard. The code popped literally on almost every restart of the car, confirming my suspicion that it was related to heat somehow.

I got the new relay in yesterday and so far so good no further codes on restarts. Hopefully that solves it and I don't have to do further digging into the circuitry to find a solution.

Nice! did you recheck the new relay with a multimeter and see what the ohm reading is on the ne one? If it is further down towards the low end of normal, then I think you hit the nail on the head!

Haha I did...it was also 110Ohms...so I'm wondering if the other specs I didn't have the tools for (indicator lights etc) were bad with the old relay. Still holding my breath it will be awhile before I know for sure it's gone for good.

It could still read the same or similar resistance and be weak and heat up or over heat more quickly and pop the code.

Well...car sat for a few days and popped the code again when I started it this morning so back to the drawing board.

Really really annoyed that I'm running out of options aside from taking it to the dealer so they can diagnose the circuit wiring now. If there's some kind of fault in the harness I'm having nightmares of engine removal to fix or replace the harness.

are you aware of the TSB put out by GM for part of the wiring harness rubbing against the metal in the engine bay causing it to fray?

this might be what you are experiencing. maybe the relay wasn't bad but your wiring harness has been compromised from rubbing on the metal and that's what's messing with your ECU.

check around here, the TSB's were posted on a thread. I thought I had them saved on my phone but I don't anymore.

worth a look.
