I always have the fans on no matter what. Why would you turn them off? fresh air in the cabin is a good thing.

18 SS 1LE with very similar sound coming from the rear trunk area. Some time ago I removed the rubber flaps on those vents assuming that was the source. Unfortunately for me the sound is still there. Hope your fix works for you.

Well thats the question, why not just leave the air on low all the time. If I want to cruise on the highway at 60mph with my windows slightly down, I can hear it and its super annoying.
I really enjoy cruising on the highway with my windows cracked and fresh air blowing in. I want to be able to do that without the annoying flapping sound. Sure I could just roll up my windows and turn the air on, but thats no fun on a nice sunny day. Last edited by protovack; 07-11-2019 at 03:52 PM. |

My car has the same issue. The only difference I noticed is that the sound goes away with the HVAC off and or blowing fresh air. I only hear the fluttering sound when the AC setting is on. Fan speed does not seem to have a large impact on the problem for me.

Experiencing the exact same noise. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what/where it was coming from! Based on the type of noise, this has to be it!
Have you been able to try any fixes yet? |

I'm on hold due to a new baby coming, so no fix yet.
My workaround at least in summer, is to have my window down far enough that the wind noise drowns out the rattle If your windows are up, then you just leave the HVAC fan on a low setting. The fix is needed for those times when you want to crack your window and leave the HVAC system off. |

Not a good one yet.
Just removing (ie cutting off) the flaps does fix it, but then you have an opening that moisture and dirty air can get in. It's not a huge deal because there isn't anything mechanical back there, but still, not a great fix. |
