2019 V6 exhaust replacement

I am planning on getting the MRT V2 axle-back exhaust to replace the huge single stock muffler pretty soon... I noticed while looking it up that MRT provides clamps to attach the new system to the existing pipes. Is it better to just use the clamps, or should I get a muffler shop to weld it?

I think MRT suggests to just use the clamps but I feel like welding would be the better option for longevity.

It just depends on how good the clamps are. It's kind of hit or miss in my experience. Of course welding is going to be best, but not always necessary. Try the clamps first and see what happens

Clamps worked fine on my Axel back exhaust that came with the Axel back.

The clamps with the good systems that clamp like hose clamps work really well. They are usually the ones that come with the exhaust kits. Most of the time they are SST too and won't rust. The clamps that are the U Bolt style that you can typically buy at the parts stores don't work so well. And they leave a groove in the pipes making disassembly very difficult. And they are usually plain steel and rust really bad. The better clamps I mentioned above clamp around the pipe and allow easy disassembly and or adjustment.

I had MRT V2s on my 5th Gen (for ~85,000 miles) and again on my Gen6 (for the last 5,000 miles). No issues with the provided clamps.
