Wink

They're jumping for joy over on the Jalopnerd blog. That's ok, they can rest assured in the fact that their prescious fords, porsches, and bmws will be dominated soon enough...soon enough.

Makes me wonder if the driver can adjust brake bias on the fly and maybe he went a little too far because from what I see, that's kinda what looks like happened.

Since the front brakes are primary, it sure appears that the rears locked up first and later the fronts. Doesn't look to me like the driver could have initiated that out of control condition if he were applying the brakes in any ordinary fashion. He was basically on a straight-away where he shouldn't have been applying the brakes at all. I think malfunction is the only explanation.

Motor Trend had a short comment on the Z28 at the 'Ring...they too said it sound naturally aspirated and wasn't supercharged. This will be a great competitor to the GT350R and I suspect Chevy wouldn't release it unless it soundly thrashed the Mustang.

It was interesting that they quickly covered the car to keep the world from knowing they wrecked a Camaro at the Ring.

The 3rd person was never seen coming out of the car, he was standing along side opening the passenger door while the driver was still in his seat. This guy was not int he Z/28.

Possible explanation: He slammed on the brakes to avoid a collision....There may have been something in the road ahead that we did not see....

This is a total bummer. I feel bad for those guys, whatever the reason is. I doubt we'll see any more of that car in videos...That was a hard hit.

Edit: video shows the track ahead was clear....

No, the driver was quoted later as saying it was the ugly black wheels.

To be fair, this is one of the most hilarious failures at Nurburgring in a while when it comes to corporate prototype testing, and nobody got hurt. A lot of publications and sites jumped on this news.

As far as Jalopnik goes and any potential bias: They have written stories about the Mustang and Camaro with about equal frequency, and their Mustang articles seem to be way more critical to the point where they basically call the owners out as morons who can't drive in a straight line when exiting car shows. I don't detect any real favoritism to Ford.

If anything, they are biased toward Tesla, with nearly 1 article per day. If Elon Musk sneezes, they will write a report on it.
