The BCM handles the remote start along with the ECM/TCM. No way you will be able to do this OEM, no one can hack the BCM other than 1 person I know of and I am guessing he wouldnt want the liability of modifying the BCM to allow this to work.

On a steep hill, ok, but 95% of the time elsewhere? Um...I never have. Never lost a car either.

While that can be true, no one will still be able to get around this with a OEM solution. The BCM programming will be the stop gap each and every time.
