2017 1SS 1LE Snow Tires/Rims with Pictures

Had to get snow tires and rims so thought I'd share fitment for future users. This is my daily driver that I'll put 25k miles on this year. Michelin X-Ice X13 245/50R18 on 18"X8" TR Motorsport C4 6 spoke rims. This is a square setup with a 32mm offset with TPMS sensors. Tirerack has guaranteed fitment and these were almost $1700 including shipping. Delivered fast! The front and rear calipers clear the rims but I'll probably have to go back and move the tape weights 1 inch further outboard on the front. No contact but...

I used a Bartec Trackside TPMS programmer that was last used on a 2008 Corvette.

Interesting how little weight is used to balance the factory rims.... I would have gone with less offset to push the wheels out closer to the edge. Tirerack has these available but the cost would have gone up and these are just snow tires.

Tirerack hasn't updated their search tool yet so the ZL1 shows no snow tire options and there is no 1LE available. Their hardware team said to select "17 CHEVY CAMARO SS COUPE 2SS W/ZL1 BREMBO BRAKE KIT" which worked. Dozens of rims available all guaranteed to fit.

I was just looking at that exact winter tire and wheel setup today on Tire Rack! Looks really great for an 18" setup. In all honesty you'll want a 7mm spacer to retain factory scrub radius up front, but if you're happy with how it feels then no worries.

Look good! Mine is also a daily here in Michigan so I will be getting a winter setup as well. I currently have some 245x45x19 snow tires I think I am going to use......how does the car handle with the skinny 245s?

I think the programmer was ~$130. It's worked on every vehicle since 2008 up until my 2015 Mustang GT PP. Chews up 9 volt batteries like they are free but works well.

I can tell they are skinny and full tread. I'm still in the break in period but it will engage traction control as the revs build in 2nd, 3rd and probably 4th. I have Blizzaks for the 2015 Mustang GT that seem to handle the power. Then again, this car has 55lb ft more torque and is geared differently.

Spacers are a great call to fix the stance and move the rim out a little bit for the wheel weight. I'll just check the stud engagement and away we go.

fighting irish...that is excellent. If you look at my pic you'll see the edge of the same wall mounted tire racks on the upper right corner. I don't know about you but I opted for lower storage for the big wheels of the SS. Those things are just too heavy or I'm too old to lift them above my head on a ladder two times a year.

I love your side window tint. I just had my windows tinted this week but Iowa doesn't allow side windows. Somehow we aren't mature enough for that or fireworks....

So happy to live in Florida. Just doesn't seem right to do that to this car.

Good to know. My current tires from my 15 GT PP have a lot of life left and hold power pretty well unless I'm really getting into it. I expected the increased torque would make things a little bit worse but I'm not worried about setting any speed records when its below freezing lol.

I'll share my 1LE winter setup with some pics.
18x8.5 ET 15mm, 245/50R18 Michelin X-Ice Xi3

Winter may be over but at least I'm sparing the OEMs from salt and potholes

I had to take pics inside the garage b/c the wind was reaching 60mph here in MI today.

There is another snow thread around here with my pics in it. I'll have to try to find it.

I'm looking at this exact set! Did u need an spacers with them? Do they run or have issues? They are good price on tire rack. I'm just between the 18s or 19s
