Does it suck we can't scratch that itch for getting the perfect line thru the uphill esses at VIR? You bet! But at the end of the day, this is a hobby, not a necessity.

For what it's worth, my first event was scheduled for next weekend at VIR, but instead I spent the afternoon cancelling reservations.

Take your damn logic out of here!

Your "new nomex racing suit" tells a lot about the logic where your post generates from lol. It is in deed a hobby, not a necessity. But how many itches do you really let go without some attempt at scratching it. Honestly, IMO any real crashes needing emergency personel are far and few between. Most offs are self correcting or may need a tow. Tows can be done with limited intimate contact.

Happening everywhere now.
Unfortunately there is no vaccine, or a magic pill for Covid19. Social distancing is the first and the only line of defense available right now. It will take a huge toll, but there is no other choice. Highly recommend looking up WHO website for details and statistics (unfortunately the US stats are inacurate, due to lag in proper testing capabilities). As to what this bug is likely capable of if not managed to the fullest, look up a modeling report published for the UK gov (needless to say, it is dire).
Tough problems call for equally tough measures.
We will get thru it. But there will be a price to pay for sure. However, the alternative is even less appealing, that's for damn sure.

As of yesterday Road America posted a statement saying that "At this time they do not expect any disruptions to their schedule"

But with what seems like a nation wide shutdown looming in the distance I'm pretty sure we will all be missing some track days this year :( :(

Small adjustment*. Eat well, try to get some kind of exercise and grab some sunlight and fresh air when you can.

Let's hope we can somewhat keep this contained in our country.

*Why: COVID-9 is a newly discovered strain of corona virus (i.e. another virus, the flu, has various strains). Virus' in general open you other ailments. The COVID-9 so far has shown to open people up to bacterial or viral phenomena, so respiratory issues. Bacterial can be dealt with through antibiotics. Viral is largely dealt with through the body battling the virus. In either case, your immune system is your true line of defense (even with antibiotics since those can have side effects on your immune system).

Agree on all your points. BUT, general health alone is not a first line of defence. Avoidance is. That's because it is vital to flat line the spread of the infection. If a healthy person gets infected, they will pass it to many people BEFORE they have any symptoms (one can be sick and contagious, yet asymptomatic for up to 2 weeks!).
And while a healthy person may recover with only mild illness, others that he/she came in contact with may die.
Italy has almost 10% fatality rate right now. France is right behind them. Availability of ICU space and specialized equipment is one of the reasons. Hence avoidance to flat line the spread is vital. In Italy the triage is now based on age: because their health services are completely overwhelmed.

PS: lots of BS out there posted by bots on the net on this subject right now.

Go to WHO website to learn how to help containing this and how to protect you and yours.

But again, i agree, good health is vital. So is a strong immune system. Young age helps here too. Albeit is not a quarantee of any kind. We have several 30 year olds up here at ICUs on ventilators fighting for their lives. Fyi...

Your gov is doing the right thing. At least at some states. A bit "late to the party" overall, but better late than never.
