SOLO exhaust or AWE
Just wondering what your take is on the new SOLO exhaust compared to the AWE axle back. Anybody bought the SOLO? I was thinking of purchasing the AWE until i saw Phastek also offered the SOLO.

I have the Solo, can't speak on AWE. I think the Solo would be better compared with MBRP since they are both basically muffler delete with J-Pipes for drone.
Here's the thread with video for my setup... https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...highlight=solo

I am getting the AWE Axle back for my 19 ZLE with chrome tips, I had the AWE axle back on the 17 1SS that I had and loved it, no drone what so ever.

AWE Touring here. Build quality and the tips are really nice. Zero drone and tons of compliments on the sound. Plus, US-sourced 304 stainless too.

Another vote for the sound and quality of the AWE touring, but of course no back to back experience so it's hard to say. I love the AWE though.

I can only speak to the Solo Performance setup. I have the "NPP" delete setup with black tips. I really like the sound and looks. No drone, a deeper idle sound, and pretty loud at WOT. Perfect blend of quiet cruising and aggressive sound when pushed!

You can NOT beat Solo for bang for the buck. They make a great kit and it sounds amazing. If you plan on doing long tubes or adding big power it might get a little over the top since there is no muffler. The AWE track system is a overpriced muffler delete so I would avoid that one. The AWE Touring system is pretty amazing and they use higher quality steel then the Solo kit. It's one of our favorite systems and we always have specials running.

I just installed the MBRP track axle-back version, everything is flat black including the tips and the sound is perfect!!! Loud on cold start but when warmed up and cruising at 60 MPH they ain't no louder than my OEM exhaust... Plus I love the way the black tips look instead of chrome, now my ass end looks mean!!! And they were a helluva lot cheaper than the AWE or Borla systems I looked at, easy to install too, did them in a weekend in my garage...

AWE here also...I got the Touring Non-Resonated and no drone.
Loud on start up...very loud, and loud at WOT however, when cruising purrs like a Lion. It also is much more raspy and the crackle/burble is more pronounced also. A co-worker has the Borla Atak on his Challenger, and my AWE sounds so much angrier than his...especially at start up and WOT. His Borla does sound good though, so I'm not knocking it, just trying to describe the sound differences. The Track kit may be too loud, as I didn't think the Touring was going to be as loud as it is...I do have Kooks too. Some construction workers at our building thought it was a Z06, another asked what kind of engine I had in it, and multiple people ask what did I do to it...one even asked if it had a cam...huh? If you like loud go with AWE!

I got my AWE axle back yesterday and eventually I will get the Borla X-Pipe Exhaust Kit to make myself a good catback system at a lower cost.

Ill be doing a AWE catback w/ the Link Pipes come spring. I saw three different AWE exhausts over the last few months on different vehicles. The quality of the exhausts up close was pretty good. I saw pictures online of there 6th Gen pipe and the welds looked crappy to me. Maybe, bad picture, but in person, its a quality exhaust. |
