Pick what you think looks good and can get a deal on. Roto-Fab is the common one. I got mine to hear the whine, and it works well for that. K&N quality is good. I need to straighten out them clamps, but they are air tight.

We advise all tuners to dyno with the hood down. Our CAI actually performs better with the hood down because it was developed and refined by data logging actual road driving. Here are some dyno test videos from Complete Street Performance and JDP Motorsports. They are for our CTS-V CAI system which is a similar platform to the 6th gen ZL1. As you can see they are running with the hood closed so that our hood-sealing design will effectively block out engine heat. |

I know I’m reviving an old thread, from what I’ve seen the aftermarket intakes show most of the power gained is from leaning the afr out either due to the less restrictive filter itself or a slightly larger MAF housing. I’d like to see dyno graphs with AFR traces being shown

+1 on the rotofab. I currently have the Elite Carbon Intake, but will defiantly upgrade to a BigGulp during my next round of mods.

Roto Fab is pricy but in my opinion the best out there. And yes, will probably give a 20 hp gain.
And looks great on my car , and a more pronounced whine ... |

I have had the Roto-fab and now the Weapon X. Both fit very well but I can tell you the whine is much louder on the Weapon X. Either one would be a good choice.

On another note, anything to be gained with a K&N or other drop in filter?

back to back real world VIR runs with two identical ZL1 A10s (stock tune) prove a Rotofab with no tune isn't worth any performance vs a stock box with a Green filter. Actually, the Rotofab equipped car was a tad slower and less responsive.

I see a lot of people running Rotofab on stock tune and such. What evidence is there to show AFRs, MAF scaling, etc. hasn't been significantly impacted? From experience on various platforms, I know MAFs can be very sensitive now days. |

If the green filter flows that much better you have to wonder how much more fine particulate gets into the engine over time
