My thought on this is that, NLS is probably disabled because of the CAGS skip shift eliminator?

For those who were able to successfully execute NLS and for those who were not able to, do you have CAGS skip shift eliminator installed?
NO my car is SS 1LE, and was full on stock when my failed attempt took place.

safe bet is just to shift just before you hit red line. anywhere above 6k RPM will trigger it, so try shifting at 6.1 or 6.2k RPM and you will see it works. don't sweat it bro

Will someone with a non 1le SS post a video of the NLS actually working?

I don't want to try it on my car until I see proof of it working.

I'm pretty sure my 2016 2SS has NLS... I haven't driven it much since I got my dashcam, but I have two 1-2 NLS shifts on video. You can clearly hear the raspberry-fart when the RPM drop. I make a turn right after the shift, so there's no 2nd gear acceleration, but both times I'm in 2nd when I make the turn. Also, pardon the bad video quality... I never edited a video before and downloaded the first free editor I saw :/

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...NLS_1-2_x2.mp4

edit: you might have to save the video to hear the sound...

From what I see there Its not activated on that car.

Every video I have seen this far with the exception of the original poster has not demonstrated a computer assisted NLS. Theres without a doubt lots of no lift shifting going on in the videos but theres nothing unloading the engine to reduce drivetrain shock and burning the clutch up. I dont know everyones mechanical background so I'm sorry if I'm over explaining this but what im seeing here is basically the equivalent of revving your car up to redline and dumping the clutch with it in 5th gear.

I mean the RPM drop even though I'm flooring it when I shift, and I shifted a bit slower than usual those times. I wouldn't do it if the engine was just bouncing off the limiter when I clutched out... my transmission would probably turn into a box of finely ground metal particles and the whole drivetrain would have more slack than a single sardine in a barrel (edit: this is mostly a joke btw... powershifting properly should put the same stess on your trans/diff as flooring it at peak engine torque. The clutch takes most of the abuse, followed by engine/trans mounts. The drivetrain doesn't have enough time to slack between shifts. Actually, letting off the gas then abruptly flooring it while at peak engine torque does more damage.). Unfortunately I don't have an easy way of recording it like OP did with PDR.

It works on ALL V8 6th Gen Camaros. That's straight from Al O himself.

Don't sweat it. Just do it and you'll never lift again.

So I just found out that I have been F@#$ing up my car this whole time. I attempted to perform the NLS while holding in the clutch for one second and my RPM jumped to redline and stayed there instead of dropping. I initially thought that NLS was working because my exhaust was making that strangs noise that people described, but instead I was just performing a regular powershift.

No it doesn't. I asked that question to Al O during the Q&A at camaro fest 7, but I forgot to specifically ask if it's enabled on non-1LE SS cars. Unless banging into a 6500rpm rev limiter is what the algorithm is doing, then it definitely does not work on my car.

Do you know anyone on the camaro team we could contact to set the record straight on this? I would like to understand exactly what the algorithm is doing when it is working. I'd be willing to drive up to the tech center to show them first hand that it's not working on my car.

Well I haven't read the entire thread but I did specifically ask Al this question.
No way I'm going to ask someone else on his team the same question.
...and a 1LE is just an SS with a little different gearing. No reason to omit no lift. In fact you would use no lift more on a drag strip than road track which is what 1LE is designed for.

I haven't tried it in a 6th Gen but my 5th Gen would bang off the rev limiter all the time using no lift.
Doesn't mean it wasn't working. Just shift fast and go.

Any chance you could ask him to confirm exactly what the feature is supposed to be doing, just so we can confirm it's working? The video in the first post (see 2nd video) of this thread with a 1LE SS is clearly behaving differently than the video of the non-1LE SS (which performs exactly the same as mine). I don't consider banging into the rev limiter a NLS feature, so would just like clarification on that directly from the team that worked on it.

Getting this cleared up will be hugely appreciated!

The SS 1LE gearing is 100% identical to the non-1LE SS (albeit with slightly smaller rear tire diameter), so I agree it makes no sense that they'd intentionally tune them differently for this feature. But my car cannot do what was shown in the first post. I've tried several times, as have others.

My NLS seems to work but only with rev matching turned off. If rev match is on, the car will not complete the shift. SS 1LE BY THE WAY
