Maybe it's just because I bench 315, but if I make it tight, it's tight. I've never even considered getting a torque wrench for a lug nut. Thats not quite an ugga-dugga, that's more of an.. UGGA-DUGGA!!

And if you do that you risk warping rotors among other things as mentioned above. They don’t need to be stupid tight. It’s not just about the wheels coming off unexpectedly there’s more to it than that.

I hope you're kidding because that statement is absolutely ridiculous.

I have always done it by feel as I was growing up. When you know... you know! Then there are some purists... and this friend of mine from CANADA...ALWAYS suggested using a torque wrench... because.... "his friend" who works for PORSCHE at a dealership said so. Bless his heart. I grew up doing without. Never an issue.. but I agree... No need to be stupid tight or it's gonna break!

I had a job in the summers at a mechanic shop that only dealt with foreign cars. they had specific tools that don't work on any car but a Mercedes/audi/bmw etc.

great learning experience. btw the advance auto nearby has a lug nut. I also bought a torque wrench and a 22mm on amazon. all in about $50. kinda dumb, I left $2,000 of tools left at home 3 years ago with my dad after my ex wife left me and I moved to FL

btw if anyone wants the best car detailing products ever, pm me. I live in a condo. I'll only own one. I can have my dad send my porter cable for free as well
