On the street I don't use it very often and continue to heel/toe. Anytime I'm on track or autox though I use it since it's one less thing to think about and, especially on track, it's definitely worth some time.

Messing with it last weekend, pulling up to a stop light with pedestrians, they were not amused by the reving.

I have a habit of doing a quick left to right "wiggle" on the shifter to confirm it's in neutral. With NPP in Sport/Track and Rev Match on during street driving, that got annoying quickly (and embarrassing) with the rev match engaging. I now keep it off during most street driving through town. When the exhaust is in tour, it's much less obnoxious.

On a back road (or track I assume) the feature works flawlessly and is really nice.

Yeah, always have the exhaust in track mode, so in town the rev match can be a little loud.

Simply sounds like a car is supposed to sound.

WRXs go "Psssssssssssssshh", our cars go "REEEVVVVVVV".

People are heel-toeing around town in these, you have turns in town that you need to heel-toe on? And then you'd do this rather than use the rev-match?
Seriously?

No, that was my point, the rev match is obnoxious in traffic.

So you jerk the car into gear?

If you don't want the rev match to kick in you can shift to neutral and the rev match will mostly not engage, if it does its a small blip soon as you shift.

Or just leave it off in the first place?

The switch for rev match is quite literally at your fingertips as you drive. It isn't any more of an issue to toggle this setting than it is to activate a turn signal.

I use it in town to lessen the load on the drivetrain, but on the track it’s heel-and-toe all the way. There’s nothing quite so orgasmic as the perfect 3-2 downshift!
