It's a big NO to the 1LE
So after enjoying the heck out of two test drives in the amazing ZL1, I finally got to try out a 1LE.
Before I say anything, let's just get out of the way that the 1LE is an amazing machine and it's worth getting if you will track the hell out of it. But as a car, it's HORRIBLE. When I read that owners and testers "couldn't wait to get out of it" I honestly thought they must be some seriously weak drivers. Years back I used to drive a modded MGB that had previously been tracked and it barely had a suspension. But it was a Lexus compared to the 1LE. The ride is horrible, absolutely terrible in every respect, jarring and annoying beyond words. The roads at Angeles Crest are famous for drivers, but even that fairly smooth road was fairly unpleasant after 20 minutes. But again, it's not BUILT for that. It's optimized for SMOOTH well maintained track surfaces and really little else. So it'll be a ZL1 with an aero package for me and the A10. I believe that the aero is useful for any road course and I wish it were a factory option, but at least we know it can be added. Kudos to Chevy. The ZL1 1LE is amazing for folks who spend serious time at the track. It's also cool for collectors and the aero LOOKS AMAZING. Not "ricer" at all and it's highly functional, so you're sounding silly to utter "ricer" standing anywhere near a 1LE. R. |

I saw a video from Hennessey where a guy was picking up his modded 1000 hp ZL1 1LE. It looked mean, sounded awesome, and was fast as hell...you could tell it was fast by the video. But, looking at the car bouncing around, I could tell the ride is really harsh. I too thought that the testers were wusses. I've driven plenty a car with horrible suspension setups. But the video assured me that it was not the drivers at all. It is not for me as I need a DD. The standard ZL1 is really comfortable. Even in track mode. I drive it in track mode exclusively and it is really comfortable to me. But the 1LE version looks like it takes no prisoners.

By it if you like it, don’t buy it if you don’t like it. Pick one.

For me
I’m just going to take the aero kit of the 1LE on my Std A10 MRC... I will have the sweet daily drive + the down force on track days... The best of each in one car.... If it’s just for the 1LE looking Take the 1LE kit (front grill, dive wing, big aileron...) The Zl1 logo for the steering wheel The 20’’ replica of the 1LE tires Wrap the hood mat black Paint the mirrors in black Put dark rear lights And «*she’s got the look*» (roxette) |

Sorry for the folks who think this was a troll. How could it be troll when I said the car is AMAZING??? It IS a stunning car, unique and very special. And like someone else said, I thought people crying over the ride must be spoiled creampuffs! But I was wrong. The 1LE is a TOTAL track car. It's not designed as transportation. Like the fellow above, I'll add the aero kit and a few other items to the ZL1. It'll slow the ZL1 down a bit, but it'll benefit the car MORE than on the 1LE. The aero is a serious upgrade for anyone who plans to drive a regular ZL1 hard, but NOT for those who want the ZL1 to be fast in a straight line. That aero will cost 10ths and high speeds of course. Time to create the ZL1 AE (Aero Edition!). Sorry I trolled by saying how amazing these cars are in different ways. No matter how tough you think you are, drive a ZL1 1LE before buying one, unless you're a committed track hound. PS: I loved the manual! I'll be getting the A10 because I'm in LA, but it's one of the nicest shifting manuals I've ever driven and I just drove the GT350R a few weeks ago. Rob |

Cool, another troll.
If you're not trolling, an otherwise stock ZL1 with just the aero kit is going to look goofy. The 1LE is lower, and has a very aggressive wheel fitment to complete the look. |

OP, you have to know, in THIS forum, driving a Dodger Hellcat, making a post like that is just not going to over very well. Some people who Actually own the ZL1 1LE love this car. And in one post, you both praised it, then shit all over it. I love my ZL1 A10, the 1LE just wasn't for me.. no need to disrespect it by saying anything else
