How To Video: Halotron Fire Extinguisher Car Mount

Nothing is as frightening as a car fire. It may take several minutes for the track safety crew or first responders to reach you. In that amount of time a minor fire could turn into a major fire. Today in this "how to" video, I am installing an Amerex 2.5 lbs Halotron "Clean Agent" fire extinguisher in my 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. I prefer Halotron over dry chemical type extinguishers due to it not leaving residue or damaging electronics. I attempted to first use a nut sert type insert to mount the bracket, but had to use through bolts due to the shape of the floor pan to mount the extinguisher behind the driver's seat.

I looked into the element, but watching a unpaid fire fighter review it changed my mind. It doesn't discharge with enough velocity and distance compared to a traditional fire extinguisher.

It's better than nothing, but I went with Halotron after doing my own research.
