New Memeber from the Nati
Hello from Cincinnati. I recently discovered how cheap the LT1 trim and have somehow convinced myself that I "need" one in my life. Not sure how it will work out as I currently have two 7 month old twin boys and a 5.9 year old son. It would be a 3rd car for occasional weekend / grocery getter / take the kid to school when work isn't too busy kind of car.
I'm not in any rush to purchase as it seems like local inventory is really low between Covid and the 2020-2021 switchover. I'm not sure when the "best time to buy" is but I feel like now is not it with <2K in rebates right now although I'm not sure what they've been historically. Going to lurk on here awhile and it sounds like Chicago (maybe Detroit?) is the place to go for a deal (definitely close enough to me to be worth a flight / drive to save some money) |

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Biggest hurdle is always money. Mine originally did not like the idea of going from my SS to a ZL1, it took a little time, & some drinks, but she came around & now loves the car. Good luck! |

Fortunately money is not the issue... it's just not liking to spend it, ha ha.

Welcome to the Forum! In my opinion you are going about it the right way! When the 5th Generation came out in 2010 I WANTED one right away. At the time I had three collector cars and really couldn't justify another set of wheels. That NEVER ONCE stopped me from continually looking and dreaming of owning my very first Camaro and I wanted a convertible which I had never had in my life.
After nearly FIVE years of looking I found the one that caught my eye, remember the old saying "Love at First Sight", well it was! I had to fly out of New Bern, NC to Dayton, Ohio to make it happen but it worked out! Still to this very day I find myself looking at my Camaro and saying "she's mine, all mine"! Best decision ever. So happy I have sold the other three cars! Wishing you the very best. Remember somewhere out there your car is sitting, you will meet one day! Larry

Yeah, I always say I'm going to do my research but then usually never do. Since this will probably be a 3rd car I'm hoping things will be different this time. Part of the reason why I'm not actively out looking because I know there is nice Orange 2020 on the lot locally but I'm not willing to pay 1,500 in Paint and stripe options or 1,300 for rocker moldings. The car has over 3K in "fluff" and even if I can get them to deal I would rather have that same or similar discount on a car without the fluff. I'm definitely not paying 3K for $200 in increased paint cost and a $100 vinyl sticker.

Anyone have experience with these folks? They seem to have "All the LT1's" in poverty spec without thousands in options (although no tech which I could probably live without). Flights are dirt cheap right now (like $30!) although I have my reservations on breaking in a brand new V8 with 1,000 constant RPM all highway miles back home. Becky D is supposed to be the go to but these are all listed below employee pricing (I need to confirm if they honor the $75 doc fee on supplier pricing at that same price because I'm sure they have their profit baked into the $900 doc fee they charge !) |
