Red vs Blue
I'm about to order my car, and the last decision I need to make is Red Hot vs Riverside Blue Metallic. I think the red with the black 1LE accents looks amazing, but I wonder if it would attract too much unwanted attention. Am I just being paranoid? The blue looks good too but definitely doesn't pop as much.
Red owners: do you have any regrets? Do you feel you get pulled over more or get unwanted attention? EDIT (so you don't have to find my comments in the thread): I went with Red Hot! Last edited by Silent_H_; 08-16-2020 at 04:33 PM. Reason: added info |

How about Garnet Red. I have that color and really like it, and I'm not a huge fan of red in general

That red hot sticks out big time. If that’s your thing go for that one, if not go with blue.

Blue is classy.
Red is in your face. I've owned a red SS for a decade and loved it. I now own a Blue one, i think the Blue looks better to be honest.

I've owned cars in both colors and like both. Hard to go wrong either way. My wife tells me the only cars she likes red are Foxbodys for some reason. (I have one of those as well) I haven't been ticket yet in my 1LE. It does get a lot of people coming up asking me, "what kind of Camaro is that?"

I've seen riverside blue in person and it can't hold a candle to the old hyper blue (aka kinetic blue) metallic from 2016-2018 model years—for my color taste that one was the only worthy competitor to my chosen color. No unwanted attention with garnet red, and I rarely drive my car like a grandma.

The new red trumps all the other colors. Blue are a dime a dozen.

I bought Red Hot ZL1 from the showroom because my Hyper Blue ZL1 was never being picked up back in 2017.
Here is how I see it: Red Hot looks great in the shade but looks too tomato soupy when the sun is shining directly on it. Red Hot reflects better up close than blue especially with the black accents of the ZL1 and/or 1LE. It's beautiful up close in non-direct sunlight. With that being said, a Blue Camaro on the road, Riverside for today's offering, looks way better moving down the road than a Red Hot Camaro. It's a cool color rather than a Hot color, more soothing to look at. To this day, I wish I waited for my order to be built for a Hyper Blue ZL1. I live in California and break the speed laws every time I drive my ZL1. I have never been pulled over. |

Agree with post #7. Garnet red or the successor color or the blue. Red hot is too lipsticky red.

Get whatever color puts the biggest smile on your face when you look at it. I don’t think it makes much difference ticket wise & even if it gets you an extra one then it’s a small price to pay to have exactly what you want.

Red is a great color. Although they "say" that it attracts unwanted attention from law enforcement I am not so sure how true it is. I know red is good for visibility and is probably the "safest" color out there. I had tow Miatas that ere red and one white one. Never had any close call with the red ones and quite a few with the white one where I was not seen as the Miatas are so small.
Go with what you like better, regardless.

LEO doesn't stalk red cars, but they do stand out very well, which is why LEOs often go after red cars.
They don't care much for darker red as for brighter red. But, don't think that just because your car is red, means that LEOs will be looking for it. They mainly look for cars that stand out, and trackie maros stand out of a general public. Blue is a cooler color than red imo.
