VIN number for 2SS 1LE

Can someone please help me with decoding a VIN. A friend of mine is looking at a 2013 2SS/1LT. When i went on a website to decode the VIN it didn't say anything about being a 1LE. It looks like it is a 1LE but one thing that I wonder about is it says that it doesn't have the 391 rear end. Here is the VIN #2G1FT1EWXD9233716.
I have been a Camaro5 member since I bought my 2012 ZL1 new and thought somebody here could tell me if it is a real 1LT. Thank you for your help with this.

1LT won't have the option of 1LE. Assuming you meant 1LE in your post, the VIN won't decode that as it is an RPO code. You would have to look at that sticker which is in the trunk

Yes, I'm talking about the 1LE. Thank you for your help with this, it's really nice of you to take the time. I will have the dealer take a pic of the sticker in the trunk.

You can check the options code sticker in the glove box or just pop the hood. White steering shaft like your ZL1 = 1LE. Regular SS’s had black steering shafts. Just an obscure thing SS1LE’s had

Since the 1LE was not it's own model but rather an option there will not be a VIN identifier designating that it is a 1LE. The only way to know is to find the option code sticker that is in the trunk under the trunk liner and look for the 1LE RPO code on that sticker.

A few other things you can look for that are not typically duplicated on look alikes are:
1. White painted steering shaft in the engine bay
2. Rear axle should be marked with 3.91 gear ratio
3. Suspension components (control arms, struts, etc...) may have stickers on them that say "FE6" for the suspension code. The rear cradle I believe will also have an ID sticker on it that says "FE6" somewhere on it since the cradle bushings were different on FE6 cars.

If he is looking at a 2013 1LE that is definitely not a Camaro 6 topic. That is a 5th gen.

Check the steering shaft. It should be white and the steering wheel has the flat bottom.

Have you resolved your issue? I tried this VIN decoder and it worked pretty damn well. This might be very useful for your needs. If this doesn't help I would recommend you visit your local Chevrolet service.

I know you're just trying to be helpful, but that info from ZL1 reg is wrong and has been forever.

One cannot identify a 1LE optioned SS from just looking at the VIN. The 1LE and non-1LE cars use the same letter in the VIN for the engine, so no way to tell by just looking at VIN. You need to have a look at the RPO code sticker in the trunk.

You could use the VIN to get a dealer/GM build sheet and then you'd see the options list like 1LE, etc.
