AWE Touring Axle-Back
I need some insight on the AWE Touring exhaust. Would anyone recommend it and how good does it sound over stock NPP exhaust. I'm looking to buy it but I want to get other peoples opinion on this exhaust. I found the exhaust for 700 and it only has about 50 miles on it.

It sounds great. I heard that they altered the install that had been using an adapter to get their 3" pipe to mate up to the stock diameter midpipe and if that's what you're getting I would only have it welded up, that adapter sucks. In later versions I think I heard that they abandoned that goofy nonsense. Too AWE told me if I had it welded the warranty would be void...I think AWE sucks as a company but the system sounds nice I'd recommend it but only on that alone. I had install problems because of their goofy adapter and they were a-holes when I confronted them about it so no I don't recommend AWE, as a company. The product itself is good.

I would get a set up that keeps the NPP functionality.

I have it and I bought it recently after hearing it on a ZL1. I thought the NPP on mine sounded good but this puts it to shame. No drone whatsoever as well. I also bought it with the black tips and they look great. I absolutely love it.

They were going to sell me a cat back system for $2200.00, I went on Wildhammer and they were selling the exact system for $1875.00. So I put the sales guy on the spot, and they agreed to sell it to me for the same price as Wildhammer. As for the product, it's good!

I had it on my 17 1SS (Dual) and now I have it on my 19 ZLE (Quad) and love it, no drone and I don't miss the NPP on the ZLE.

Why? Not one of the aftermarket catbacks or axle backs that keeps the NPP functionality works worth a crap. I had one of the aftermarket systems that had NPP on it, you couldnt tell when the NPP was closed or open on the system and top it off there was massive drone. I had the AWE system on our 2016 Audi SQ5 and now I have the axle back on my 17 Camaro SS that has a Procharger on it along with ARH Catless headers. The AWE Touring is a night and day difference over the stock NPP. As said it sounds very aggressive and there is absolutely zero drone. I have dealt with AWE a couple of times, they were alwasy easy to deal with in my experience.

That is very relevant information. I have no problems with my ATAK NPP, and there is quite a difference between valves open/closed.

Yeah, Borla's NPP is awesome and I hear the new Corsa system has even more of a sound difference between modes.

Yea if everything checks out and it's not beat to hell. These axle backs still go for upwards of a 1000 dollars. Just be aware if you add catless headers down the road it's going to be obnoxiously loud and if you live in the city be prepared for complaints from your neighbors.

How does it compare to the catback in terms of sound? I have secondary cats deleted but most videos on youtube are of the full catback or axleback with secondaries in? does it sound shitty in just axleback form vs catback?

I wouldn't bother with the catback unless you're doing a full exhaust. That would have been $500 or so saved for me.
