The other option - throw a jack under one side - take the 9 bolts off that hold the plastic under tray on the bottom of the engine / steering rack and fish it out. Is it annoying? yes. Can it be done in under 15 minutes? Yes.

I use my cell phone whenever I drop something in the engine bay. Just record video while you stick your phone down in the bottom of the engine bay. You can see where your dropped bolt/socket landed on the video. Just don't drop your phone.
