Any News on the 2019 Mid-Year Refresh
Is GM still planning to do this?

Lmao I dont understand why people thought GM was going to do this. The amount of retooling and such would be astronomic. Not to mention that they announced nothing about it. I do see them POSSIBLY offering it as an LPO item, but I highly doubt that they would refresh again, way to much cost for very little gain.

At the moment we just have the rumors that came from GMauthority, there's is no real source that the SEMA frontend will be a production model or OEM part.
But after they showed the frontend in Detroit again, I still think this will be an upcoming option. Maybe for MY2020. Remember that we also have rumors for a low-budget V8 camaro for a long time now, but there is still no announcement of that.

While GM has announced nothing on this topic, I find it intriguing that the Xfinity series race at Daytona used "SS Camaro's" but appear to use the RS or perhaps the Sema style nose with the bowtie in the grill and painted front crossbar. What gives?

Doubt they will change anything further at this point in the 6th generation...Probably 2 years more, then if the 7th gen is still a go then that will be the next exterior change, which will probably be a major change unlike the 5th to 6th gen evolutionary style.

I'm really surprised that the aftermarket hasn't come out with a color matched bumper cover/bowtie relo kit yet! Big market for it IMO!

I expect this to either be a production refresh or LPO option for 2020. I do not think they will change anything for 2019.

Car has barely been out a few months and they aren't selling well. How quick do you think someone can mass produce an entire front bumper? Huge market is a bit of a stretch.

2020 order banks open at the end of May so we should be hearing something soon.

Back in the 70's, they could do it. Every year Caprice had a different front end from '71-'76. However, today is very different. If they change anything, it won't be until 2021. At least two full model years.
It kind of makes me wonder why they did only two years for the '14-'15 style. It wasn't ugly (Was the Z28 ugly? Yeah, I thought so.) and was actually an improvement (sleeker and slightly more modern looking) from the '10-'13 style. |
