Who has done cam and a 2650?

Want to know some hp/tq numbers from those who have done cam swap and a 2650, but no meth.

Did you update the lowside? If so, with what?

I just contacted a shop to do:
Cam, oil pump, American racing 2" Headers, remove converters and install a pair of resonators, 103tb, big gulp, and a 2650.

My end game is 750-800rwhp that is very streetable. Want to have no issues or fuel worries. Doable? Reliable?

Pretty sure if you add a low side booster you will blow past that goal with ease.

Jannetty has done some and posted them on here many times. I’m sure doing everything you have listed and the low side booster you should be about 850whp without breaking a sweat.

I went with ported stock SC, cam, and meth. It was the cheaper route for me. So far I’m loving it. Makes 780whp.

For whatever it’s worth, anything over 750whp is a bunch. Low 10s all day.

thanks for the reply. Just having a hard time with the thought of over driving the stock blower even though many have done it without issue. It gets so hot and humid here, i am just afraid i will be giving up something, whether its power or long term driveablility.

The goals i set for my build i think are reasonable for a street car. I am not out for the High hp builds that start jeapardizing reliability and the ability to drive it anywhere. Last thing i want after the build is to listen to my wife to keep telling me i should have left it alone

If you keep the stock SC, port it and do a 2.3 pulley and you shouldn’t have any heating issues.

With that said the the 2650 is the way to go if you can afford it. I would have gone that route but it was about 5k more for that build.

Well, i am still waiting for the shop to give the price for it all. I too may not do it. Just a guess, i am thinking the estimate will be between 15k-18k. Parts alone i can see being 12k. I just prefer to get it all done at the same time if price is reasonable.

I just picked up a ZL1 myself. Im also looking for reliability and not over stretching the fuel system. Im considering a twin turbo system. It seems to me it be less taxing on the fuel system. My goal is 900/1000 hp. I like the option to turn it down with a push of a button.

most likely the latest part number revision GM has for our car. I have appx 14k miles on the car now with no issues, but my luck it will let go after the build.

I’m about to get a 2650 and 103TB put on. I currently have CAI, headers, lower pulley, and a cam at 650 rwhp.

If you add low side booster or pump you should be well over 700whp

If you do a cam a 2650 and a low side you can push out 800rwhp with no problems. You can get away without the low side most likely but it would be really pushing it and to be honest any hiccup in the pump could be catastrophic at that point. Anything close to 800 and we really recommend an upgrade. We've done a handful of builds in the 850-900rwhp range with that same set up with no issues. A little 100 octane for fun and you're 900-950 on the stock injectors and high side pump. If you want to change those out we can get you north of 1000 without issue. Hit us up for some pricing. We'll get you the best deal on a 2650 and our install rates might make it worth bringing your car up here.
