I read an article on that earlier today. It may be a good investment for the future but who knows.

Those paint jobs have been and always will be hideous IMO.

Ugly yes, but definitely would be a collectors piece.

Those cars have been abused up and down the USA. Not worth it to me. People smoking in there, eating, half ass maintenance. No thanks. Why buy a rental car???

Maybe, maybe not. Either way I’ve never been into having a museum filled with cars at my house. I prefer to drive them and enjoy them fully which negates most of what a collector etc would want in the future.

All of us think they don’t look good now but a day will come in the future when we say “damn, that Hurst ZL1 sure looks good now”!

I agree I wouldn't ever own a rental car because of all of the people that smoke or anything else that may go on in there.
BUT with it being a legitimate collectors car, then it could gain some value in the future. Would I buy one just for it to sit and collect dust? No. If I had the money to waste and a place to store it for 30 years, then I would buy 1 of each. |

I can't even imagine how beat on these cars are. Considering what I did to the last minivan I had to rent.

I would disagree entirely on it being a collectors car. Its a sticker package with some upgrades on a regular ZL1...hell, they killed the warranty, and since they are filing bankruptcy most likely, that means its all on the buyer of their overpriced, over used cars.

These cars have barely 3K miles on them... they are Calloway SC750 package ZL1's to start (that's $87K), then you have Rick Hendrick's Motorsports doing the unique touches to the interior and exterior then you have 1 of only 24 EVER made from Hertz All covered under factory GM warranty as well These cars with lower miles will easily become serious collectibles. The C7 Z06s they are selling, which are 3LZ models, are at a very good price and a bit lower than a non-Hertz Z06. Anyways, ever heard of the '66 GT350H? Yes it was sent back to Ford for refurbishing but it was a rental none the less and they are worth $100k at the lower end of the scale. Could the ZL1 or Z06 be in the same boat as that? Maybe. Only 24 of each are in circulation right? Compared to the 1000 of the '66 GT350H. It all depends on what happens in the next 20-30 years. |
