Super Chevy: Best Of The West V.2 - June 6-8

SUPER CHEVY UPDATE:

So here is the information that I received from Super Chevy and the track:

The cost will be $100 and will include one free passenger for the weekend.

Saturday:
8:00am: Morning Cruise Meetup (Location in Bakersfield TBD - will not be Auto Club Famoso Raceway)
8:30am: Cruise to Kern County Raceway Park (23 min drive)
9:00am: AutoX / Brake Stop Challenge
1:00pm: Cruise / Poker Run part 1, includes lunch for driver
2:30pm: Cruise / Poker Run part 2 back to Kern County Raceway Park to "play hand" of cards picked up along route.
3:00pm: VIP Show & Shine at Kern County Raceway Park for Night Race spectators
7:00pm: 2 tickets to Night Races

Sunday at Auto Club Famoso Raceway
Judged Car Show on-site
Gen 5 Challenge Drag Racing (Additional DOT classes extra)
*Super Chevy Magazine Triathlon Drag Racing

*Keep in mind that the we may not do the Super Chevy Magazine Triathlon this year, if we do... The AutoX and Brake Stop Challenge will take place first-thing on Saturday morning, then the rest of the time will be open time runs for Camaro5 and any other Super Chevy Show cars that want to start the day at Kern County Raceway Park.

The track is paying for the track time, timing and night race tickets at Kern County Raceway Park, lunch for the driver, Poker Run staffing, etc.

Sunday will be for drag racing and the Car Show.

I realize that we are only getting from 9am - 1pm for AutoX. I am not pleased at all about this but it is the most that they can do.

Sorry for not getting the information out sooner. I was trying to get all the details before I posted it.

Hello fellow Camarohaulics!

Welcome to the Second Annual Best Of The West Shootout at Super Chevy in Bakersfield's own Famoso Raceway. There will be Autocross, Drag Racing, Super Chevy Car Show, Vendors Alley and more. Last year we had a very good number of Camaro's showing up. There was plenty of racing and good fun with the family. We want to try to get over 50 Camaro's this year.

Pricing will be announced soon for all Camaro5 Members....
$ will cover Autocross, Drag Racing, Car Show for Saturday and Sunday with one passenger for both days

There will be a special 5th Gen Camaro Challenge. Here are the events and rules:

You may not change tires. If you drag with slicks, you must autocross with slicks. If you autocross with street tires, you must drag race with street tires.

Points:
First Place will get you 7 points - all the way down to Seventh Place will get you 1 point for Autocross and Drag Racing.

At the end of Saturday, the Camarohaulic with the most overall points from all events will be declared the winner for that Area.

On Sunday, the Winners from each section will go up against each other in Auto Cross and Drag Racing.

The Winners of Sunday will be declared the "Best of the West".

Brake and Stop Challenge -

Car Show at Host Hotel on Saturday Night. (Cars will not be judged on cleanliness)

Cruise to Super Chevy

Awards:
1st - 3rd Place in each Area will get a Trophy/Plaque
1st - 3rd Place in each Event will get a Trophy/Plaque
Best of the West will get a SuperChevy/5th Gen Trophy and Special Award.

Ok boys and girls. Here is the hotel information for Super Chevy.

The hotel rate that we are getting is under $75 per night for the regular rooms. That is with taxes already included! The Suites are $110 plus tax and it has 2 rooms, one with a regular bed and the other for a sofa bed. When you call to make your reservation, use the code CAMAR5.

We will be having our own parking section at the south of the hotel as the picture below shows.
