Backup Sensors on 1SS

I got so used to my Tahoe's backup camera with sensors that when I was backing up with my 1SS, I was waiting for the beep that never came.....

I now have a slightly scratched bumper on the right corner

I couldn't justify the cost to put in the GM sensors, and I was really not keen on messing up the bumper any further by drilling holes in it.

Found a complete backup sensor system in black on ebay for $10 [ ! ].

I ended up mounting two sensors in the lower valence, near the outside corners. The mounting is slightly lower than the minimum recommended 20", but they work fine and blend right in.

Tapped into the reverse light power, so only works when in reverse, and works great.

Never had sensors. My 1LT has backup camera only. It is a joy backing up with that camera. Amazing. I guess it's the little things. Nice job!!

Until I got the Tahoe, I always thought backup sensors were for sissies or new drivers, but after using them with the camera, I find them indispensable.

The camera on the Camaro is great, but it did not show me the two foot high light pole support in my blind spot, so I scraped it. Not gonna do that again!

My 11 has sensors. I think I rather have sensors than camera as the camera will spoil you and take away your driving skills. I can parallel park my car with 1.5 feet of space left in about .45 sec. The camera would take away my skills.
