TY.

Nope nothing positive.

Went in thinking I was picking it up on Friday.

There is an interesting issue he feels is tied to HPFP.

The numbers are 587/637 on the chart with a dip at around 4000RPM where the fuel PSI readings go off the charts reading crazy numbers.

I'm not at all a gear head so hard to describe other than what I saw. He feels I need to replace my HPFP and I dont want to pay that labor so at this time he is getting the issue addressed to make sure it doesnt go in limp mode on way home.

No matter what I'm taking it somewhere else. I had a quote for 5 hours of labor involved in getting it running back in Dec2019... and an estimated 4 hours for the tune work... well I have a feeling I'm going to be in for a treat on the hours involved in this tune and nothing to show for it other than more problems to deal with.

I want another set of eyes on the car to see what was really done.

Just been a terrible road from the day the 1st unit blew up that whipple shipped, sent new one, to failure with next to no abuse done to car... been to strip twice only maybe 6 total passes. Car had 12K miles put on that build of casual driving. And nothing but sob story since.

I am not taking it as is without having another pro look at it. Sucks.

I'm perfectly capable to do the tear down swap the HPFP and put the SC back on but don't really WANT to after waiting 9 months to finally drive it. SIGH.

I'm in the Utica MI area if anyone has a place they recommend. A friend at GM mentioned Alternative Auto / Lidio and said he is good/respectable.

What fuel pressure dip are you referring to, low pressure or high pressure side? Do you have any fuel system mods? If not, where you are at for HP is where I would stop until you do.

Canned tuned are the worse. And procharger has terrible techs. It’s always “well, our car, is fine. Had to get a professional. Retuned and made power.

Sounds like it is definitely out of fuel on the high side(especially since it's a 1le with LT4 low side). The torque shouldn't exceed the horsepower by that much on a Whipple.

@King I think you nailed it... that is totally my gut.

Thanks everyone for all the support and comments on this.

I picked up the car yesterday and I honestly dont think they were at all familiar with the fuel limits of the LT1. I tried to explain that anything over 600 on stock fuel system is going to be an issue.

Car throws a P00089 (totally fuel pressure related) and he flipped a bit in the tune to keep it from entering limp mode when this occurs. But I end up with engine light. The car drove great but I still am very leery to leave it like this very long taking everything I've said about this experience... the whole experience felt dodgy why 9 months.... I think they tuned it too aggressive and I'm hitting the issues that everyone is aware of here with the LT1 fuel system and they set me up to need the LT4.... just my gut. Already contacted another tuner for a once over.

This part was recommended: 12684286 (fuel pressure sensor) but I do not understand the "why" this will help considering the LT1 fuel system limits we are all aware of here....

They did not video my final pull as I was promised and I'm puzzled by the graph. Looks nothing like graphs I've seen... it looks like they quit around 4000 RPM is this normal?

Torque doesn't look normal to me. Even my Whipple truck is pretty flat from 25 to 4k and still ok until 5500.

Wifey has an eforce on her SS I gave her my lt4 fuel parts. She went from 580/580 to 615/666 she had always through a code low fuel rail pressure especially when no lift shifting. Hadn't had any codes since she got my goodies.. DSX lowside aux, lt4 hpfp, and lt4 injectors. Now the compression is the issue.

At 4000 rpms I got serious cutout aswell with the lingenfelter big bore pump ,dsx lowside, and plus 30 injectors. I extended the drop to about 6000 with the high flow ck valve and fuel line work by the hpfp. But this was with cam lobe 38% and full e85 near 900 to the wheel. On 93 it was solid to 850 no presure fall.

Now I'm port injection and lt1 fuel part 840/1004.

Hopefully this gives ya an idea.. I think w lt4 stuff and aux you should do better than an eforce.. or maybe the 6 gen eforce have gotten better.

Thx for all the feedback.

Question. If I get LT4 HPFP and injectors does anyone know if the Whipple will still seat properly?

I saw a video of a gent that did this on a Silverado where the Whipple casing needed grinding...

I guess LT4 pump is slightly taller.

I am scheduled to drop off car Monday for inspection of my current tune.

Thx.

Absolutely no issues with LT4 HPFP & injectors under the Whipple.

Make sure you get the new high pressure fuel lines if you do, don’t reuse the original ones.

This does not necessarily apply to every Whipple that was made for the 6th gen though. The early units, at least, did not have enough clearance from what I have heard. I have talked to someone that got an early unit and Whipple told him back then (spring of 2017) that he could not fit an LT4 hpfp under their blower.

Wow, good info. Had not heard that. I’ve got a Gen3 blower and their currently on Gen4 production, so hopefully any one made in the past couple of years are good to go.

Pretty sure you have a Gen 4 Whipple and they are working on a Gen 5. The Gen 3's were the early Whipples that had the clearance issues.
