Whipple 3.0 vs. Magnuson 3100
Any reviews on these new superchargers from Whipple and Magnuson? Has anyone installed these yet and reviewed? I did not see any threads on this, so asking again. I am looking to install either one of these with a meth kit and need some feedback good or bad. Not sure if the Magnuson 3100 is available, as I see the 2650's still. Thanks again. (I posted this in the general forum as well with no response)

Nope, no info yet. The 2650 is still the best option right now since Whipple is not building the 2.9 anymore for the Lt1. Not sure about EBrock, I'm assuming they are still building their 2650. Harrop is doing a 3100 but it may only be LS based right now.

^Whipple replaced the 2.9 with the 3.0...The full kit is available for the LT1. Upgrade kit coming from a 2.9 isn't available yet but was supposed to be ready around this time. I don't know anybody that has a 3.0 setup yet on a LT.

Harrop is already advertising a 3100 blower, if I saw that correctly.

I didn't know they were selling them yet. I know you had posted about it but wasn't sure on the release. Good to hear that they are ready for delivery and should be pretty stellar if they work like they do on the 5.0. Some other guy posted he ordered one but not sure he really did since he was asking questions about it that should have been answered by Whipple. King get one coming, what you waiting on?

The full kits for the Whipple 3.0 and the Magnuson 2650 are about the same $$$. I have a few questions into TooHighPSI as well regarding their products for the Magnuson. I spoke to Whipple and they started delivery on the 3.0 back in August with a 4 week delivery timeframe. Before I pull the trigger, I just want some feedback, good or bad, but it looks like the 3.0 is too new for any real time feedback. The 2650 is been around for a while with some good and bad feedback that I have read. I am keeping the boost around 8-10PSI so no internals will need to be modded at this time even with the add of the meth kit. I will keep everyone posted once I gather all the info from a couple sources and the speed shop doing the work.

There isn't really a wrong choice for 8-10psi. Even a LT4 supercharger is fine at that boost level.

How is anyone reviewing these blowers if they were just announced at SEMA a few days ago? Isnt SEMA like a show where MFRs introduce preproduction and concept parts and cars? I wouldnt assume that anything you see at SEMA being brand new would be available retail for quite some time.

Yes... keeping the boost at a minimum range for the road. Not going to track the car. Not that I don't mind going to the track and watch everyone else tear up their stuff for the need for speed
I understand that addiction, but you gotta pay to play. For now, I will just watch and save my $$$ |

Based on comments from Magnuson today, I'm fairly confident the 3100 won't be marketed as something for everyone. The 2650 will continue to be the solution for the majority of people and the 3100 will be reserved for those wanting full max effort drag racing setups.
