Red Camaro SS parked next to Red ZL1 Big Bro

Got a nice pic of my 2SS parked next to his big bro ZL1. Both are RedHot and it is very cool seeing the design differences between the two side by side. I think next year I might trade up.

Why does only one of the 2 cars have a front license plate?

I can't even start to think about putting a front license plate on my ZL1. MO requires it but I have not been stopped on any of my Grand Prix GTP, SS, or ZL1s that I have owned.

The SS does like nice.

I never put them on either. It’s required here but never been stopped in the past 20 years. I do keep my front plate under my front seat with suction cups on it so that I could stick it in the window if I had to. If I ever get caught I’ll pay the fine. That is far more preferable than sticking a plate on the front of my car.

It's a cool comparison. I think your SS looks fine as-is. Feel free to upgrade for more HP but not for looks.

It would be for the horsepower. I like the looks of both but I do like the ZL1 a little better. For what I would pay to supercharge the 2SS I could probably put enough down on a new ZL1 and still be paying similar payment every month.

Consider the 1/4 mile times here when thinking about ZL1 vs a modded 2SS:

Folks are kissing 10 seconds with bolt-ons and that's not a stock ZL1 accomplishment.

My $0.02: don't upgrade your 2ss if you can't pay cash for the upgrades. If you want ZL1 style and performance and want to wrap it into a loan, then ZL1 and keep it stock.

Oh, I know...it wouldn't really be a speed thing. It would be a "big booming engine while keeping my warranty" thing.
