I'm going to try to do it on my car sometime in the next month, just need to dedicate a day to it.

Yes, you can change out the dust boots without pulling the pistons. Just be gentle around the pistons.

Sorry, I missed the question. The pistons only need to come out to change them and / or the pressure seals. The dust seals you can just take a dental pic or something like that to help pull the seal out of the bore and off the piston upper lip. You can then press new ones back on with your fingers. It's easiest to do with the caliper off the car, but, you can do it with the caliper either still bolted to the knuckle or unbolted from the knuckle but still attached to the brake (fluid) line.

Great to know! Thank you!

Hoping to get some clarity on which vented piston and seal kit to purchase for front calipers. I have a 2017 SS 1LE with the stock calipers. Do I purchase the 19207043 kit or the 23242510 kit?

Also, anyone have an idea of where to source the 19207044 front caliper dust boots? Seems like everywhere is stocked out.

Appreciate the help.

As mentioned in post #1 you need both or go with the RB high temp boots which is what I recommend if you're a track rat.

For the SS 1LE:
Part No. 23242510 x2 (vented pistons + seal)
Part No. 19207044 x2 (dust boots)

check with these guys (there are many more online) https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/g...-19207044.html

Apparently, I missed this thread when posting about Amazon having these kits relatively cheap. I took pictures comparing the two sets here:

I’m in the middle of this vented piston, upgrade and find it incredibly frustrating how poorly the parts are packaged. I ordered five sets to down select two and even with those odds I have to use some compromised parts with little nicks in them. If anyone has a suggestion on how to source these pistons without a bunch of scratches I’d really appreciate it.
